SPM CHAPTER V
WITHDRAWAL OF RS. 15,000F, Rs. 25,000/- AND Rs. 40,000/- DENOMINATION
NATIONAL PRIZE BONDS FROM CIRCULATION

Attention is invited to Instructions Circular No.72/2021, 243/2020 and 236/ 2

020 dated April 30,
2021, December 30,2020 & December 10, 2020 respectively on the subject.

2. In this connection, it is advised by the Finance Division, Government of Pakistan vide

Notification No. F.16 (3)GS-1/2014-915, 916 &917 dated May 28, 2021 received under cover
of State Bank of Pakistan, Banking Service Corporation (Bank), Currency Management
Department conveyed vide their CMD Circular No. 2 dated May 31, 2021 (copy enclosed) has
extended the last date for encashment / replacement / conversion of cited Prize Bonds
(bearer) upto September 30, 2021.
3. In order to comply with SBP Banking Service Corporation (Bank) instructions and
safeguarding Bank's interest, following measures are advised to the Regional Offices for
meticulous compliance;
Regional Executive Operations/Head of Cash Management will ensure surrender of
existing Prize Bonds through Branches maintaining Account V to SBP and this exercise
should be continued till 30-09-2021. In case of any issue with SBP/Regions, Head of
Cash Management should immediately report to Wing Head, Currency and Chest
Management Wing, Operations Group.
Other instructions in this regards shall remain unchanged.
Regional Executive Operations/ Head of Cash Management will ensure timely
submission of consolidated report of National Prize Bond physically held on attached
formats (Annexure-A) in soft form by October 01, 2021 to Syed Jawed Hussain, Head
of Currency Management on (syediawedPnbp.com.pk ) for onward submission to
SBP.
4. All Regional Executive Operations/Head of Cash Management (Conventional and
Aitemaad Islamic Banking) and Branch Managers (Conventional/Corporate/Aitemaad
Islamic Banking Branches) will ensure meticulous compliance of SBP directives for
withdrawal of said denomination National Prize Bonds from circulation in letter and spirit.

NATIONAL PRIZE BONDS FROM CIRCULATION

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please refer to this department Circular No, 8 dated December 10. 31120,
Circular No. 9 dated December 24. 2020 & Circular No. 1 dated April 30. 2021
regarding the captioned subject.

In this connection, it is to inform that the Finance Division, Government of

Pakistan has extended the last date for encashment / replacement / conversion
of Rs.40,000/-, Rs.25,000/- & Rs.15,000/- denomination National Prze
Bonds (bearer) upto September 30. 2021 vide Notification Nos. F.16(3)GS-
1/2014-915, 916 & 917 dated May 28, 2021 (copy enclosed).

The branch / region wise consolidated data of cited denomination prize bonds
held by them on last date i.e. September 30, 2021 shall be shared latest by
October 1, 2021, as per the instructions stipulated in aforementioned CMD
Circulars.

All other instructions in this regard shall remain unchanged.

Kindly disseminate aforementioned instructions to all branches and concerned

officials for information and strict compliance.
