Activity 4: The pain points of tech integration

As a school head what are the key challenges in integrating technology in teaching and learning.

Technology evolves time and again to form things easier for all of us by reducing our efforts
done over tasks manually. it's quite ironical that one among the critical challenges for
college head is to place in efforts to know the mechanism of those technologies.

As a faculty head/an educational leader, I see three key challenges in integrating technology
in teaching and learning, and these are as follows:

Firstly, for a teacher to be ready to utilize the classroom technology to full

extent, it's crucial to know the operations of every part involved the type of
technology getting used. When an educator is subjected to the transition phase where she/he
is suddenly bombarded with technologies to be incorporated into a daily classroom routine,
there might be plenty of confusion ultimately leading to the educator’s frustration altogether
hampering the quality of education delivery.

Secondly, another critical challenge is that the personal choices of educators. Many

educators keep a low-tech profile and thus refrain from utilizing technologies as they
quantify the negative implications of technology quite the positive ones.

Thirdly, another hurdle is for learners having differing types of learning. Primarily the

learning styles include visual learning (learning by visuals), auditory learning (learning by
listening), kinesthetic learning (learning by doing), linguistic learning (learning by
reading/writing). When oriented to educational technology which features a particular theme
for education delivery, students might face challenges to get acquainted with the type of
learning experience provided by the educational technology.
