GAUGE

1. Negative emotions are designed to keep us safe and to motivate us to improve our lives, just as
positive emotions are. Negative emotions are important part of everyone’s life to be able to make us
strong, brave and independent.

2. Negative emotions also most likely aid in our survival. Bad feelings can be vital clues that a health
issue, relationship or other important matter needs attention, Adler points out. The survival value of
negative thoughts and emotions may help explain why suppressing them is so fruitless.

3. Negative emotions are not enemies or obstacles on your path but the key to make your victory are
sweeter because you surpass those trials. Lastly, it makes you keep on motivating and improving
yourself.
