1.0 PURPOSE
1.1 Ensure that installation of refrigerant piping and testing of refrigerant piping is carried
out in proper condition as per Method Statement and National Standard.
2.0 SCOPE
2.1 This procedure shall cover designated location for installation of refrigerant piping and
testing of refrigerant piping for ---- Project.
3.1 RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Engineer-in-Charge is responsible for ensuring the installation works is carried out as
per Method Statement and in a safe manner.
3.2 Engineer-in-Charge ensure the installation as per approved shop drawing, specifications
and recommendations form consultant / main contractor.
3.3 Engineer-in-Charge is responsible for ensure thar materials are as per approved material
submittal.
3.4 Engineer-in-Charge is responsible to check that the installation is carried out according
to the technical and engineering requirements.
3.5 Engineer-in-Charge is responsible to carry out inspections on completed works.

5.1 N/A
8.0 PROCEDURES
8.1 Checked and confirmed the refrigerant piping routes as per approved drawings.
8.2 Using an electric hammer drill to drill at 1500mm intervals for threaded studs.
8.3 Set in flush anchors/wall plugs by using a setting tool to receive the threaded rods.
8.4 Threaded rods are cut to length with electric fiber cutter and all sharp edges be
rounded.
8.5 Ensure all rods are screwed in completely with washer and lock nut.
8.6 Brackets/angle bar pre-cut and drilled are installed to the threaded studs. Tighten the
bracket/strut system at the desired height with washers and lock nuts.

8.7 Pipe must be cut accurately to measurements established at the construction and
Pipes must be installed as to permit free expansion and contraction without damage
to joints or hangers.
8.8 Install piping to be as short and direct as possible with a minimum number of joints,
elbows and fittings.
8.9 Refrigerant piping must be insulated with 50mm thickness insulation and insulation
must be wrapped with insulated tape (PVC).
8.10 Arrange piping to allow inspection and service of compressor and other equipment.
Install valves and other accessories in accessible locations to allow for service and
inspection.
8.11 Pipe work to properly fixed and supported using a recognized and approved
Manufacturer’s support system.

12.1 Ladder used on site must be inspected and certified safe by the CPW Safety Supervisor
before use.
12.2 Ladder when used against wall shall not form an angle greater than 30 degree from
vertical.
12.3 Ladder when in use must be fully extended with the safety catch engaged and never
stand on the top step of a ladder.
12.4 All scaffoldings to be use on site must be inspected by CPW safety supervisor.
12.5 shall be worn safety glass, ear plug, hand gloves when performing like drilling work or
other works using electric tools.
12.6 All electrical cables shall not be laid across floor or submerge in ponds of water.
12.7 Workers are to be trained for scaffolding used.

14.0 INSPECTION
14.1 After completion of installation, will be inspected with witness of the Engineer.
14.2 Attached inspection check list for above installation.
