TELECOMMUNICATION WORKS COMPLETED DURING THE YEAR 2013-14.

 PLC between SHLD – KDA stations was completely removed by using redundant

wires and poles of JAD – KHCT section.

 Malicious cuts have been controlled.

 Most of the VHF Radio sets are restored in locomotives and stations as well

despite acute shortage of staff over the division.

 Solar Power system was introduced / installed on stations on Main line PSC-HSN

section.

 6 Nos Maintenance free Dry Batteries are provided for better backup of systems 3

each on Mail, Branch Lines station.

 The entire wireless phones have completed their life time, but still functioning due

to well repair and maintenance by Telecom staff. However 15 new V. Wireless

telephone sets replaced which were beyond further repair.

 Installed 8 Nos. new CCTV cameras in co-ordination with SRP/PSC at Peshawar

Cantt Railway Station with out any cost.

 C.I.R circuits installed / provided for on line tracking system, Audio / Video

Conferencing system in D.S Office / PSC and Crypto systems in Cipher Office /

PSC in supervision of the undersigned.

 Intercom exchange which was not working during load shedding. An alternate line

is provided to overcome the issue. Now it works round the clock.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
 Cary out office management activities pertaining to administration of
telecommunication staff, arrangement of budget and its proper use for telecom
stores equipment, salaries and TA/DA of staff.
 Exercise control over all telecommunication subordinates & other staff working
under him and check their TAs recommend leaves and take action under the
Efficiency & Discipline Rules in accordance with powers delegated therein.
 Attend officers enquires regarding personnel matter of concerned telecom staff.
 Inspection, modification and maintenance schedules / plans and test procedures of
the related equipment of telecommunication system. i.e. control lines, VHF, HF,
Hot line, Carrier Circuits, NTC/PTCL landline and V. Wireless Phone, Idone
monitor system, intercom exchanges and Phones and Microwave phones over the
Division.
 Conduct out any other duties that may be assigned by the DS and Chief Engineer
Telecom /Lahore.
 Carry out any other duties that may be assigned by DS and Chief Engineer
Telecom/Lahore.
 Co-ordination with the Divisional and all concerned workshops at HQ/LHR for
repair and upgradation of the telecommunication networks throughout Pakistan
Railways.
 PROPOSAL FOR TELECOMMUNICATION

 Replacement of overhead wire with underground cable.

 Advance switching system VOIP may be provided at PSC control for
communication with stations.
 Over Peshawar Division Telecom Staff required for the maintenance of overhead
wires until the overhead is converted fully with underground cable.
 Permanent staff for NSR – DRY section.
 One LDC is required for Telecom Branch.
 VHF Radio sets required for NSR – DRY stations.
