Read about Charlie Chaplin and answer the questions

Charlie Chaplin was a famous actor and appeared in comedies. He was born in London in 1889. He was a very funny
man and made everybody laugh. He wore big trousers, big shoes, and a black hat. He was a big hit on stage. Audiences
loved his personality!
Charlie Chaplin started his work in London theatre. His mother was a singer. One night she couldn’t appear on stage,
so Charlie went on and sang instead. He was only five! His parents taught him to sing and dance. His father left his
mother when Charlie was very young.
He went to America at age 21. He found a job at the Keystone Film Company. He was in his first comedy in 1914. He
never spoke, of course because actors didn’t speak in the old films.
In 1953, he left America and settled in Switzerland.
Charlie Chaplin made films for 65 years. His films are famous all over the world. He died in 1977. He was 88 years old.
