“COCKED BEARING”

1. Problem.

High temperature bearing motor inboard side up to 93 degC at couple and uncouple 75
degC.

2. History.

- On February 16, 2021, uncople test was performed in the workshop after
replacing the motor bearing and welding the outb crack bearing cover, the
results of the max vibration check. 1.6 mm/s (For bearing temperature not
checked).
- On April 16, 2021, a pump running test was performed but the motor tripped,
when the shaft was turned a bit heavy, repairs were made to the pump.
- On May 25, 2021, a running test was performed on the results of the max
motor vibration. 3.17 mm/s and pump 2.5 mm/s.
- On May 31, 2021, extra check vibration was performed because the bearing
temperature hot, the results of the inspection of the inboard motor bearing
temperature up to 93 degC and outb side 45 degC, then a pump switch.

4. Conclusion.
- The results of the vibration show that the dominant spectrum is 1x, 2x on the
inboard side motor and 1x ,2x accompanied by high frequency on the
outboard side motor indicating an indication of "cocked bearing".
- Visual inspection results show that the bearing housing inboard side is crack
circular and the bearing housing appears to be tight, measuring 100.00 mm-
100.04 mm and oval, this could be the cause of "cocked bearing".
