1.0. SCOPE MANAGEMENT
Title: Development of Waste Water Management System for Philip Morris Intl. Pakistan

1.1. Project Scope Description

Design and Development of Wastewater Management System for Philip Morris Intl. Pakistan to
improve the environment quality and reduce the consumption of water through wastewater
treatment, recycling and advocacy for less domestic consumption.

1.2. Deliverables
 This project will deliver the Environment Quality Study of existing condition to assess
the current environment situation.
 This project will deliver the design of wastewater treatment plant.
 This project will deliver a plant for waste water treatment on international standards.
 This project will deliver the plant for purification of treated water through Reverse
Osmosis Process.
 This project will deliver a training program of employees for less consumption of water
for domestic use.

1.3. Acceptance Criteria

The acceptance criteria of this project is effluent meeting the NEQS Standards (National
Environmental Quality Standard) and reduction of cost of water consumption by the factory.

Project Concept
There are three target outcomes of this project: first two are tangible outcomes and the third one is
intangible outcome. With every outcome there are outputs which are further explained below:

Outcome 1
1.0. To improve the Environment Quality of the factory as per NEQS by treatment of
discharged wastewater
1.1. Study of the existing environmental conditions at the factory by Third Party
1.2. Design of Wastewater Treatment Plant from an Engineering Establishment
registered with PEC in compliance with effluent quality as per NEQS
1.3. Treatment of Wastewater through Construction of Wastewater Treatment Plant
1.4. Trained Operational Staff on Plant operations as per Environment Health &
Safety Standards

Outcome 2
2.0. To reduce the cost of water used by factory for processing, up to 43% through
recycling of treated wastewater
2.1. Purification of Treated Wastewater through Reverse Osmosis Process
2.2. Reduced cost of Water for factory processing

Outcome 3
3.0. To decrease the consumption of water by the factory employees up to 20% through
advocacy and training
3.1. Employees Trained on Water Management through sessions
3.2. Water Consumption for Human needs reduced up to 20%
