CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION

Fashion nowadays is a vital need in the lives of people, especially the new generation. Most of
the people today, especially the teenagers, are using some accessories like bracelets, necklaces,
earrings, etc. to be more attractive, elegant, and to gain more confidence.
As entrepreneurship students of the ABM class-1 of the UMPC Senior High School, our final task
is to create a business plan. We chose to focus our business plan on the fashion jewelry industry, due to
the present trends of fashion.

Objectives of the Study


a) To gain more information about our desired business industry.
b) To know the probable problems that may arise in our business, and create plans to counter
them.
c) To have a guide in establishing a well-organized and highly profitable business venture.
d) To have some recommendations for strategies to help our business become successful.

Methodology
The main factor that made this study successful was the teamwork and perseverance of the
researchers. We completed this study by undertaking a series of procedures listed below:
a) We selected an industry that best fits the desired business that we plan to take.
b) We gathered the important information about the industry that we need in order to be well-
knowledgeable about the business endeavor.
c) We interviewed some personalities related to our chosen industry and asked recommendations
from them.
d) We observed some jewelry businesses in the city and studied the strategies they used,
particularly on how they served their customers, and the pricing strategies they used for their
products.
e) We collated all the gathered information, analyzed it, and then started making our business
plan.

Scope and Limitations of the Study (Revise: must contain the areas of focus in the study)
Our study covers the fashion industry, particularly the beaded-bracelets businesses. We focused
our study on the jewelry shops near our city, and observed the business strategies they used. The study
is just limited on the jewelry businesses, and we limited the data we gathered from the years 2010 up to
the latest information about the said industry.
