EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 01-2019

“REORGANIZATION OF THE BARANGAY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (BDC)”

WHEREAS, to encourage and ensure the participation of the private sector in local
governance, the LGC of 1991 created the Local Development Council in each local government
unit including the Barangays under Section 106;

WHEREAS, the main purpose for the creation of the LDC is the formulation of a
comprehensive local development plan;

NOW THEREFORE, I, CARMELITO C. BARRIENTOS, Punong Barangay by virtue of the

powers vested in me by law, do hereby order the Reorganization of the Barangay Development
Council;

Section 1. MEMBERSHIP. The Barangay Development Council shall be composed of the

following:

 Section 2. FUNCTIONS. The Barangay Development Council shall have the following
functions;

1. Mobilize people’s participation in local development efforts;

2. Prepare Barangay development plans based on local requirements;
3. Monitor and evaluate the implementation of national or local; programs and
projects and;
4. Perform such other functions as may be provided by law or competent authority.

Meetings:

The Barangay Development Council (BDC) shall meet at least once every six (6)
months or as often as may be necessary.

Section 3. EFFECTIVITY. This order shall take effect immediately.

Issued this 21ST day of January, 2019 at the Barangay Poblacion, Sibagat, agusan del
Sur.
