SANGGUNIANG BARANGAY, BARANGAY TIBALAWON, ARTEHCE, EASTERN
SAMAR, HELD ON JANUARY 07, 2019, AT BARANGAY SESSION HALL, THIS
BARANGAY.

RESOLUITON No. 09
Series of 2021

A resolution organizing the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children

(BCPC).

WHEREAS, Pursuant to the DILG MC NO. 2002-121 providing the guidelines

on the organization and strengthening of Local Council for the Protection of Children
(LCPC) incorporating threat. Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD)
coordinating committee at all levels, there is a need to organized the Barangay
Council for the Protection of children (BCPC) of the Barangay.

NOW THEREFORE, on motion of HON. ETHEL B. ALURA, Barangay

Kagawad and duly seconded by HON. RALYN A. BALEÑA, Barangay Kagawad;

BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED TO ORGANIZE the

(BCPC) of this Barangay of the following composition.

HON. CHARLYN N. PIMENTEL – Chairman – Punong Barangay

HON. RALYN A. BALEÑA – Co Chairman – Chairperson committee on Women’s
and Children Welfare.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the BCPC shall exercise of the following

functions and responsibilities:

1. Foster the education of every children

2. Take steps to prevent juvenile delinquency and assist parents of children with
behavioral problems so that they can get expert advice.

3. Adopt measure for the health of children

4. Conduct capability building project to increase knowledge and skills in

handling
children’s and program.

5. Encourage proper performance of the duties and responsibilities of parents

and provide learning opportunities on the adequate learning of children and
positive parent-child relationship.

6. Promote wholesome entertainment in the community;

7. Prepare Annual Work and Financial Plan (AWFP) for children and
recommend appropriations to the Sangguniang and coordinate with other
agencies and institutions in planning, monitoring and evaluation thereof;

8. Establish and maintain database on children in the barangay;

9. Advocate for the establishment and maintenance of playgrounds, daycare

center and other facilities necessary for child and youth development;

10. Conduct feeding program monthly with the assistance of the day care parents
to decrees malnutrition among children;

11. Encourage parents to enroll their children as early as June of the year.

12. Advocate the passage of the Barangay resolution ordinances responsive to

child related issuers and concerns and insure the inclusions of children’s
program in the executive agenda;

13. Protect and assist children in need of special attention (e.g abandoned,
maltreated and dependents) and refer cases filed against child abuser to
proper agencies or institutions;

14. Monitor situational reports on Children and prepare quarterly updates

including the implementation of children’s program and make
recommendations to the municipal council for the protection of children for
consideration and nationwide applications;

15. Perform such other functions and other child related Laws especially in
matters of child and parent’s education, health, entertainment, etc.
