NARRATIVE REPORT ON ARBOR DAY

(October 21, 2020)

In support of the National Tree Planting Activity, GNHS took its part as it held a school-based tree-planting
activity last October 21, 2020 which aims to increase awareness on the importance of trees and tree planting in our
environment.

GNHS personnel which comprise both teaching/non - teaching were encouraged and requested to plant one (1)
fruit tree in the school’s designated planting area following the minimum health requirements and safety standards.

Moreover, with the restriction of face-to-face classes, the activity extends beyond as students from their respective
communities were also obliged and requested to plant one (1) fruit tree in their desired planting areas. Numerous fruit
seedlings were planted which include mango, tambis, lemon, etc. of which each seedling was named after who planted it
and each of them committed their self to taking care of the seedlings. They will be in-charge of watering it and
safeguarding the seedlings.

After the tree planting activity, the participants went back with a smile in their face expressing much of their hope
and happiness about the tree planting experience.
