Abstract

The paper is about the situation of single mothers.

Widows are expereincing a lot of changes throughout their journey. It is


not just their behavior but also their mental capability is also affected. This
situation strengthened them and help them focus on their children. This
study aims to know how single mothers cope with the problems they are
facing and understand the experiences of supporting a child alone fully.

Family comes from the great word home Every individual came from a family, it
helps an individual in shaping their lives and it plays a major role in the formation of
one's personality. It becomes a mold that forms an individual and the training
ground for love, knowledge, and, foundation of a person. No one can deny that
family is the foundation of society. Lessons they learn in family life had something to
do with guiding them towards on their set of clearly defined personal values and
behaviors. But no family is perfect, considering the situation of those who are a
single parent.
However, widows are still able to eventually recover from this situation may be
through perseverance, diligence, self- love, courage, positive thinking, faith and
family support.

This study aims to analyze and understand the lived experiences of a


single mother. The researchers used a Qualitative research design. The
gathering of data is through interviews with the help of the research
instruments used such as video and audio recorder, pen and paper. The
researchers limited their participants on single mothers in the selection of
widowhood and received their consent to proceed with the interview. The
study resulted in the participant having similar situations and difficulties
which are sadness, fear, and financially incapable.
