Activity 1
To come up with the chosen design whether quantitative or qualitative research, think of which
best suites in the given title or topic to explore the collective ideas and picture out to reveal
better understanding. Abstract is allowed to envision the young minds. Make your own chapter
3 specifically the research design on the space provided then answer the guide questions.
Research Design
In this study, quantitative approach was applied to collect and analyze data from all
respondents. The researchers created and finalized a questionnaire before distributing it to
the intended group of participants. The questionnaire was specifically designed to address
research objectives about teachers' perceptions of the use of ICT tools at Barobo National
High School.
Guide Questions:
a. What design did you use?
Qualitative Methodology
b. Describe the design and related the use of which in your particular study.
The research design is intended to meet research objectives concerning teachers'
perception of ICT tool use at Barobo National High School.
c. Which specific type of research design is being used in your study?
The Survey type via online forms. The questionnaire was based on 5‐point Likert Scale
ranging from: 5 = always, 4 = often, 3 = sometimes, 2 = rarely and 1 = never.
d. Why did you choose such type?
Because it is the most convenient, reliable, and precise form of survey that can
produce the kinds of data needed for analysis of the study.

Activity 2
Orderly arrange the steps in preparing a research design using letters from A-D.
A Decide for design
B Describe the design
C Specific type of design
D Characteristics of design

Activity 3
1. How important is the research design in the study?
Research design is necessary because it allows the seamless operation of the
many research processes, making research as efficient as feasible in terms of
generating most knowledge with the least amount of effort, time, and money. The
design of the research has a considerable impact on the trustworthiness of the results
produced.
The term "research design" refers to the advance planning of the procedures
to be utilized for collecting relevant data as well as the techniques to be implemented
in their analysis.

The following are the reasons for the importance for research design:

• It eliminates inaccuracy;
• Promotes optimum efficiency and reliability;
• Avoids bias and marginal errors;
2
• Reduces time waste.
• It is helpful in gathering research materials;
• It is useful for hypothesis testing.
• Provides an idea of the resources needed in terms of money, manpower, time,
and effort.
• Provides a high-level overview to other experts;
• Directs research in the right direction.
