WEEKLY LEARNING ACTIVITY SHEET
SCIENCE 2 Quarter 3 week 7
Effects of Light

Name:_____________________________________Section:_____________

Most Essential Learning Competency (MELC)

Explains the effect of light on different materials

Learning Objectives:

1. Describes what happens when light strikes a mirror at an

angle.
2. Draw how the light bends as shown using pencil.
3. Shows evidence that light travels in straight line.

Key Concepts

 Light is always reflected from shiny or polished

materials like mirror. Light that is reflected from the
mirror is similar to a basketball bouncing off from the
ground when dribbled.
 Light bends when it passes through some transparent
objects at a slant. The light bends because it changes
speed. This is called refraction.
 Light travels in a straight line from a source until it
reaches an object. When light hits an object, it may
bend, bounce off or pass through the object.
