Question [10 Marks, CLO2-A4]

Below is an example of a well-written brochure. Analyze it with respect to

traits of technical writing and Seven C’s of communication. Identify the
traits and explain how they are present in the brochure. For example, if
you think its language is concise, give reason for your answer.

1. Completeness: -

According to my point of view this brochure contains Completeness because it

is showing information about (What is corona?) and how this virus spreads and
what are the symptoms secondly it is providing information to reader that what
are the safety measures he should follow if this virus attacks and how to protect
others from this virus.

2. Clarity: -

Clarity factor is there in the brochure its theme is simple, and author used
simple pattern to guide his readers how to protect their self from this disease
and its symptoms are clearly mentioned there.

3. Correctness:

The information about coronavirus given in this brochure is absolutely correct

author explained simply and correctly that how to protect yourself and others
from this infection as we all know no vaccine is there for corona so the only
way to remain on safe side is to avoid interaction that is written on brochure.

4. Concreteness

Concreteness means that there should be research base information and no room
for imagination should be there and in this brochure on the top it is written that
patient of COVID-19 will face problem in breathing and dry cough will be
develop and high fever will be there after 14 days it shows research of author
that he struggled and gave correct information to hi reader.
5. Courteous

Courtesy factor is also there as in the end of brochure it is mentioned that “For
emergency call at 112 in all EU member states” so it is clear author has specific
audience and he is not giving information to all world. And it shows respect of
EU member states Infront of author.

6. Conciseness

Yes, conciseness is there author didn’t write in detail he conveyed his message
in bullet points which is good, and it gives good impression to reader.

7. Consideration:

The author must take into consideration the reader’s opinions, knowledge,
mindset, background, etc. in order to have an effective communication. And in
this brochure, it is missing I think because author is conveying his message and
didn’t cares about the opinions of his readers.
