Explain how the MOSFET works in two sentences only..

Metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor act like switches by varying the
voltage on one terminal, specifically the gate, then it changes the resistance
between the source and the drain terminal and the voltage on the gate creates a
field effect and as you increase the gate voltage the positive voltage will repel
holes in the substrate away from the channel region then the free holes leave the
channel thus creating a depletion region across the entire channel. An inversion
layer of electrons will start to form at the source and it will expand towards the
drain when the gate voltage passes the threshold voltage and when a voltage is
applied across the source and drain the current will flow.

Explain the NMOS enhancement mode of a MOSFET. which region has the P-type and N-
type and what composes the Gate, the source and the drain ?( 5 sentence max)
NMOS enhancement mode of a MOSFET is when an increased gate enhances the
conductivity of the channel. The N-type is located on both source and drain region
while the P-type is in the channel region but also it serves as the base of the
MOSFET. The gate is composed of an oxide and a layer of metal while the source and
drain are two heavily doped N-type.

Explain the PMOS enhancement mode of a MOSFET. which region has the P-type and N-
type and what composes the Gate, the source and the drain ?( 5 sentence max)
PMOS enhancement mode of a MOSFET have a natural conductive channel and a negative
gate voltage is needed to actively turn it off. The N-type is the base and in the
channel region while the P-tye is on both source and drain region. The gate is
composed of an oxide and a layer of metal while the source and drain are two
heavily doped P-type.

Why is it called common source amplifier, explain this configuration of the MOSFET
in 3 sentence max only.
It is called a common source amplifier because the source acts as a common terminal
between the input and output. The output voltage is amplified and obtained through
the resistor at the load in the drain terminal after the input signal is applied at
the gate and source terminals. According to the input and output impedances, it
generates current and voltage gain.

Why is it called common drain amplifier, explain this configuration of the MOSFET
in 3 sentence max only.
It is called a common drain amplifier because the gate terminal of the transistor
serves as the input, the source is the output and the drain is common to both of
them.Self-biasing is used in this particular circuit and there is no need for a
drain resistor. The input signal is applied to the gate through a coupling
capacitor, and the output signal is coupled to the load resistor through the other
capacitor .
Why is it called common gate amplifier, explain this configuration of the MOSFET in
3 sentence max only.
It is called a common gate amplifier because the gate acts as a common terminal
between the input and output. The input impedance of a common gate amplifier is
low, while the output impedance is high. The grounded gate acts as a barrier
between the input and output, providing high levels of isolation and preventing
feedback, especially at very high frequencies.

To perform any AC analysis of any MOSFET circuit we need to follow three step: what
are they? ( max 3 sentence only).

Consider all DC sources in the circuit as zero. Replace coupling and bypass
capacitors by short circuit. Replace the MOSFET by small signal equivalent model.
