VI. Project Description

The innovation is designed to make the SHS students apply their competencies and
acquired knowledge in Social Sciences which is relevant to their track. The idea is to plan
and implement the use of creative portfolio in their work immersion within the second
semester of 2021. Writing concepts and principles using different activities in their
modules may help learners develop the competencies, explain how society works, and
explore everything from the triggers of economic growth. This information is vital and
can be used for many purposes.
All Grade 12 Students will be highly engaged to finish their portfolio in creative way as
part of their work immersion and to apply the concepts of their track for present and
future use.
V. Rationale
The Office of Curriculum and Instruction (CI), through the Bureau of Curriculum
Development (BCD), issues these guidelines as basis for the Work Immersion
implementation of all senior high schools during crisis.

The Covid 19 widespread has caused gigantic disturbance within the education sector.
Within the setting of the fundamental instruction, alternative may use in operation of
schools within division, locale workplaces. Physical attendance in school is suspended.
Within the Senior High School, the usage of Work Immersion, which may be a required
subject for the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) track and other tracks
are expected to be seriously influenced in this situation. In this case learning ought to not
stop even amid emergency circumstances.
Work Immersion (WI) aims to provide SHS learners with opportunities to Office of the

and Instruction familiarize themselves with the workplace; to simulate employment; and
to apply their competencies in areas of specialization/applied subjects in authentic work
environments. However, its implementation must be flexible enough to fit the complex
setup and needs of learners, schools and partner institutions in the country.
As stipulated in DepEd Order No. 39, s. 2018 entitled Clarification and Additional
Information to DepEd Order No. 30, s. 2017 (Guidelines on Work Immersion), Work
Immersion is a requirement for TVL track while it is optional for Academic, Arts and
Design, and Sports tracks. For Academic Track, the following suggested activities guided
by the attached MELCs are provided.
In Humanities and Social Sciences (HumSS) Strand and General Academic Strand(GAS),
culminating activity is needed. The City of San Fernando West Integrated school follow
the guidelines of work immersion and since this is new this will serve as alternative way
in work immersion, we ought to give our best and find out the result. This subject is
designed to provide students the opportunity to integrate their learning in the different
learning areas of the humanities and social sciences through a creative culminating
activity.
VII. Goal and Objectives:
The main goal of this innovation is to provide students the opportunity to integrate
their learning in the different learning areas of the humanities and social sciences through
a creative culminating activity.
