Before answering the question-paper candidates should ensure that they have been supplied
to correct and complete question-paper. No complaint, in this regard, will be entertained
after the examination.

Note : Attempt Four questions in all. All questions carry equal marks.

1. Using a case study approach present an account of the various modes of delivery
for an architectural project in the contemporary scenario.

2. Describe with suitable examples the roles and responsibilities of the following
professionals engaged in the design of building :
(a) Chief Architect
(b) Architectural Intern
(c) Structural Engineer.

3. Discuss with approach examples the following types of organizational structures of

an architectural practice :
(a) Partnership
(b) Institutional consultancy.

4. Present with examples a brief overview of the various modes of awarding an
architectural project to an architectural firm as prescribed in the Architects Act’s
Architects (Professional Conduct) Regulations.

5. Present a short summary of the provisions outlined in the Council of Architecture’s

Comprehensive Architectural Services Guidelines with respect to the following
aspects :

(a) Professional fees, stages and mode of payment

(b) Project cost and budgeting.

6. Using a case study of a project of your choice prepare a risk scenario for a project
under construction and its management measures.

7. Assuming your role as a project in-charge in an architectural firm, prepare a

complete framework to be used for supervision, inspection, measurement and
certification of the work executed on site.

8. Present an overview of the taxation framework that exists for the smooth functioning
of the construction industry in the country.
