In 1568
Kerk in vlammen opgegaan. In 1941 werd
meteen aan de restauratie begonnen, maar
deze heeft vele jaren geduurd.

dates back to the 12th century. In the course of the
14th and 15th centuries, two churches arose from
one church. The Koorkerk was intended
for monastics and the Nieuwe Kerk for
parishioners.
In 1568 a great fire raged, which severely damaged the church. During the
rebuilding, the church took on its present form. During the city bombing on 17
May 1940, the abbey complex with the Nieuwe Kerk went up in flames. In
1941 the restoration was started immediately, but it took many years.
