CHAPTER 1 CLARIFICATIONS

BACKGROUND OF THE SUDY

-pls start with overview not with argument (according to)
-next is personal observation
-last main objective

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
-must align with the title
-framework summarizes the study
-it serves as guide in creating statement of the problem

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

 1-2 questions lang

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

-pls identify the main benefactor then rank them from most important to the least

DEFINITION OF TERMS
-VERY important terms
-alphabetical

CHAPTER 3

This chapter is categorized into three (3) parts:

1. Research Design
2. Method
3. Data Analysis Procedure.

RESEARCH DESIGN
-state kung anong design then discuss it
METHODS
-composed of two parts: Participants and data gathering instruments

PARTICIPANTS
1. Sampling method
2. No. of participants
3. Locale
4. Key informants (optional)
5. Criteria

Two types of sampling

 Probability
 ?

 Non-probability
- quali,
- based on non-random criteria
- hindi lahat may chance, so like pili yung participants

Other sampling methods:

 Convenient sampling
 Quota sampling (target participants at least maka-5 or 4)
 Purposive sampling (best for case study)

 No. of participants
- Pag case study oks na ung 4 or 5
- sa pheno, i-limit lang sa 7 ang participants

 Key informants
– can help u validate answers to ur data
Example. They get 4 selected students from RSHS-VI that have difficulties in
speaking English. These would not be enough to support ur statement of the
problem. So English teachers will serve as key informants. But not all research
has this, it’s optional.

DATA GATHERING INSTRUMENTS

Observation
 Direct Observation
 Personally observing
 Indirect Observation
 You base sa observation ng ibang tao
Example: KMJS

Interview
 Structured
- May set of questions na nakaready tas stick ka lang jan

 Semi-structured
- More on open-ended questions para open for more discussions

 Unstructured
- da next question depends on the answer/ response ng participants

 Individual Interview
 Group Interview
 Mediated Interview
- no face to face

-the most common data gathering instrument is the interview

-we are using the in-depth interview
-in creating the interview questions, PLEASE STICK TO YOUR STATEMENT
OF THE PROBLEM

Data Gathering Procedure

- letter to the principal and participants
- ilagay na interview will be made through online platforms

DATA ANALYSIS PROCEDURE

- paano gagawin/ analyse yung data
 Thematic analysis
- nakagroup ung answers according to ideas, topic, and patterns
-
Example: how was ur experience during the quarantine period?
- challenges encountered (central idea)
- bored
- unproductive
- had difficulty with this blab bla bla
