Smart Power Myanmar is an integrated nation-wide platform that works to accelerate rural electrification to spur
economic growth and transform rural communities. With an initial investment from The Rockefeller Foundation,
Smart Power Myanmar aims to catalyse investment of hundreds of millions of dollars to support the rollout of
thousands of mini-grids and other rural electrification solutions, with support from its Founding Members, The World
Bank Group, USAID and Yoma Strategic Holdings. Smart Power Myanmar’s vision is a natural extension of
achievements made by Pact over several years under the Ahlin Yaung (Light) program which has brought electricity to
thousands of rural households in Myanmar. Fortified by additional evidence and insights into current and potential
energy use (see our recent study Bridging the Energy Gap), Smart Power Myanmar will identify and promote business
models to stabilise and strengthen the rural market for renewable energy, addressing both demand-and supply-side
challenges. Smart Power Myanmar is seeking highly experienced energy professionals with experience from both the
private and public sector who are committed to improving access to energy and economic growth in Myanmar.
Role Purpose
Communications & Project Support Coordinator (m/f) will play an important role in Smart Power Myanmar’s
communications; executing the communications strategy; contributing to content creation for external audiences
(local and international), managing the production of communication products related to rural energy access in
Myanmar across all communication channels. If you are a self-starter and have a passion for storytelling thorough
stories, data and audio-visual presentations, this is a role for you!
The Communications & Project Support Coordinator will also support SPM leadership in external engagement,
strategic communication and policy advocacy to build a compelling case for decentralised energy access among
different stakeholders. Additionally, s/he will create effective working relationships with external consultants and
agencies contracted by SPM for specific research, knowledge products and communication tasks, ensuring high-
quality completion in line with Smart Power Myanmar branding guidelines. She/he will provide support across various
program teams, including field implementation, data analytics and external relations, under the leadership of Smart
Power Myanmar’s CEO and advised by Pact Myanmar Communications team.
This position is open to Myanmar and expat professionals and applications from women are strongly encouraged. The
successful candidate will join our team in Yangon.

Key Responsibilities
The Communications & Project Support Officer will be involved in the following functional areas:
Program support
• Support strategic planning processes, opportunities’ development and targeted communications’
development
• Assist with program delivery, incl. workplan management, field trip coordination, preparation of various
program documents in coordination with Executive Support Manager and other senior staff
• Supports coordination within the teams and with external initiatives
• Develop team capacities in data collection and storytelling and support internal learning processes
• Apply SPM strategies and values effectively throughout all work areas at Smart Power Myanmar
You are a first-rate communicator with excellent verbal and writing skills and great interpersonal skills. You are a
self-starter who can coordinate with multiple stakeholders in a professional manner with attention to detail.
