After Effects of World War 2

1. Introduction:

World War II was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945. It
involved all the great powers: the Allies (France, British, USA
and Soviet Union) and the Axis (Germany, Japan and Italy)
powers. 40,000,000 (forty million)–50,000,000 (fifty million)
deaths occurred in World War II making it the bloodiest
conflict, as well as the largest war in the world history. It
resulted in the extension of the Soviet Union’s power to nations
of Eastern Europe, enabled a communist movement to
eventually achieve power in China, and marked the decisive
shift of power in the world away from the states of Western
Europe and towards the United States and the Soviet Union.

2. Effect on Economy:
World War II brought about untold changes not just to Europe
but the entire world.  The main aftereffect of World War 2 was
on economy of the whole world but here I will be specifically
talking about World War 2 effect on America’s Economy as it
had the highest economy at that time also. America's
involvement in World War II had a significant impact on the
economy and workforce of the United States. The United States
was still recovering from the impact of the Great Depression and
the unemployment rate was around 25%. American factories
were retooled to produce goods to support the war effort and
almost overnight the unemployment rate dropped to around
10%. As more men were sent away to fight, women were hired
to take over their positions on the assembly lines. More people
were needed to produce the food and weapons for the men on
the front lines. The new jobs were taken by many who had been
out of work for several years. Before World War II, women had
generally been discouraged from working outside the home.
Now, they were being encouraged to take over the jobs that had
been traditionally considered as 'men's work. Existing
companies changed their lines from consumer goods to war
materials, and new plants were constructed strictly for the
creation of products for the war.

3. Effect on people:
World War II was the deadliest military conflict in history. An
estimated total of 70–85 million people perished, or about 3% of
the 1940 total world population, 25 million were military
soldiers other were civilians. Soviet Union had the most deaths
of World War 2 about 27 million people lost their precious lives,
including 8.7 million military soldiers and 19 million civilians.
Six years of ground battles and bombing resulted in widespread
destruction of homes and physical capitals. Buildings, offices,
homes were destroyed and millions of people were left
homeless. The Second World War destroyed huge amount of
properties. People lost their properties and migrated to other
countries, died or their properties were blown out with bombs
while countries were fighting. The war completely or partially
destroyed roads, buildings and homes. There was hunger crises,
most people died due to shortage of food or diseases including
military soldiers. Everything was critical and worse from every
angle, humanity was been destroyed.
4. Political Effect:
The biggest aftermath of World War 2 was the decline of
European Colonial Empires. Now as World War 2 ended,
creation of United Nations took place. The United Nations is an
intergovernmental organization that aims to maintain
international peace and security, develop friendly relations
among nations, achieve international cooperation, and be a
Centre for coordinating the actions of nations. World War 2 was
also the cause of Cold War which occurred in 1947 and ended
up in 1991. The United States benefitted the most from World
War 2. During the war 17 million new civilian jobs were
created, industrial productivity increased by 96 percent and
corporate profits after taxes doubled.

At the end I will like to say that:

“If we don’t end War, War will end us, the real
lasting victories are of peace, not war.”
And indeed:
“There’s no war that will end all wars.”
