Welcome Back Dragons!


This semester long course will prepare you in the basic functions of online software, and the
advanced functions of Microsoft Office products. Much of the class is hands-on experience with very
little teacher talk so you must be prepared each day and be a self starter.

Class Materials
Know how to access your: Google Docs Account, Email Account, Schoology Account

Grading Policy
A variety of assessments will be given. Most of the work in this course will be completed using
technology. Since this course is mainly project based scoring will be completed mostly through
rubrics.
30% of a student’s grade will be formative (daily checks, quizzes, bell ringers)
70% of a student’s grade will be summative (culminating projects over software and technology)

Classroom Procedures & Expectations
 Please take care of restroom breaks before class. The 10/10 wait rule will be implemented
 Phones and other electronic devices should not be seen, heard, or handled unless use is
requested by teacher.
 Treat each other with respect.
 Take care of equipment.
 Being on time for class means is defined as: in your seat with materials ready before the bell.
 Drinks are allowed in the lecture area of the room if they have a lid.
 Please do not bring food into the computer lab.
 Bell Ringers are to be completed while teacher takes attendance the first few minutes of class.
 Preparedness and organization of materials will equal success in this class.

Computer Usage Guidelines


Drinks are not allowed in the computer area of the lab.
Music streaming takes up too much bandwidth, so we will not be using the computer for personal
music streaming.
Phones should not be on a charger or plugged in to the computers.
Each day you are responsible for booting up the computer before class begins.
Internet gaming is not allowed at anytime.
YouTube is not an acceptable website in this lab.
Please do not change screen saver unless it is a class project to do so.
Please save all work in your online account such as googledocs.
