General Market Description


Manila is the capital of the Philippines. It is one of the oldest cities in

the world, as well as the most densely populated city proper in the world as

of 2018. It was the first chartered city by virtue of the Philippine Commission

Act 183 on July 31, 1901 and gained autonomy with the passage of Republic

Act No. 409 or the "Revised Charter of the City of Manila" on June 18, 1949.

Sampaloc is a district of Manila, Philippines. It is referred to as the

University Belt, for numerous Colleges and Universities are found within the

district. Aside from being the University Belt, Sampaloc is also known to

Metro Manila and the surrounding provinces for its Dangwa flower market,

located in Dimasalang Road, well known as the selling center for cut flowers

from all over the Philippines, mainly Baguio.

Manila is a major center for commerce, banking and finance, retailing,

transportation, tourism, real estate, new media as well as traditional media,

advertising, legal services, accounting, insurance, theater, fashion, and the

arts in the Philippines. Around 60,000 establishments operate in the city.

Manila was the second most competitive city in the Philippines. Manila

placed third in the Highly Urbanized City (HUC) category. Manila held the

title country's most competitive city in 2015, and since then has been making

it to the top 3, assuring that the city is consistently one of the best place to

live in and do business

The Port of Manila is the largest seaport in the Philippines, making it

the premier international shipping gateway to the country. The Philippine

Ports Authority is the government agency responsible to oversee the

operation and management of the ports.

Geographic

The geographic location of our target market is in the area of business

establishment and educational institution. It is located at 1883 Recto Ave,

Sampaloc, Manila, 1008 Metro Manila. We surrounded by five (5) Barangay

within our area. It consists of Barangay 391, 395, 396, 397, 464. Our location

is easily to find and we surrounded by many potential customers like as

students and office worker and other that can use our product.

Demographic

The Demographic of our target market is based on the Barangay

Officials as of 2018 record. The total population of Barangay 391, 395, 396,

397, and 464 most of them are students and office workers and people pass

along Recto Ave, Sampaloc Manila.

Commercial Nearby

Optimum ID Lace is located at 1883 Recto Ave, Sampaloc, Manila,

1008 Metro Manila. The establishment nearby are Terrence, Jaime, National

Book Store Recto, Jaca Billiard & Café Cartimar Manila Shopping Center,

Sogo, RCBC Savings Bank Pioneer Educational Review Center, Bank of the

Philippines Islands, Ronald Enolpe, Cebu Pacific and McDonalds. While the

Table 1 shows the Total Number of Population per Barangay. The

total population in the 5 barangay is consist of 10,039 people who presently

lived in those barangays of Sampaloc Manila. The highest population who

lived in those barangays is in the Barangay 391, which is 2,592 people while

the lowest population is in the Barangay 395, which is 1,300 people who

lived in.

In Barangay 391 their population is 2,592; in Barangay 395 their

population is 1,300; in Barangay 396 their population is 1,845; in Barangay

397 their population is 2,380; and is Barangay 464 their population is 1,922.

Table 2 shows the distribution of number of surveys. The researchers

will conduct survey in (5) Barangays in Sampaloc Manila. In Barangay 391

with 100 number of surveys; Barangay 395 with 50 number of surveys;

Barangay 396 with 71 number of surveys; Barangay 397 with 91 number of

survey and Barangay 464 with 74 number of surveys with the total of 386

survey.

The researchers used Slovin’s formula n=N/1+Ne2 with a margin of

error of five (5%) percent to determine the sample size of the population.

The formula of Slovin’s is utilized.

Census of Population as of year 2015

Table 3 refers to the population by sex and age group in City of

Manila for the year 2015 (Source: National Statistic Office (NSO) Census

of Population as of year 2015). There are total of 1, 642,743 people who

consist of 805,503 total number of male and 837,240 totals of number of

females in City of Manila. It shows that female is much higher of about

31,737 people than the population of Male.

The highest population of male and female base on their age group is

at the age of 20-24 years old, total of 175,310 people it consists 84,593 males

and 90,717 females. Under the age of 85 and over got the lowest population

which is a total of 3,758 people it consists 984 males and 2774 females.

is 9,437. We get the actual population of five (5) barangay where we’ve

conducted our survey and multiplied it by the total frequency of those who

are willing to buy Optimum Id Lace which is 94%. The annual demand

increase 1.2% by the year 2021 then 1.1 by the following year. For projected

supply, we multiplied the total demand for 2020 by 1.10% and it will

increase by.10% every year. To the gross annual product, subtract annual

supply and annual demand.

Our business named “Optimum Id Lace” Optimum means something

that is best or effective because our product is effective and it will be

helpful specially to the students and office workers to make their life

much easier with our product because we wanted to our customer

nothing but the best, that’s why it also include on the meaning

We make the logo based on what we have on our product were the

letter “O” represents for creativity of the product, The “P” represents for

the parts of the flash drive, “T” represents fast access, “I” stands for the

design of the product that is trendy & catchy, “M” represents for the

Bluetooth earphone, flash drive and OTG. The Bluetooth earphone built in

the lanyard and it is removable when the battery drained. Flash drive with

OTG is place in the middle of side release buckle. We also offer other design

of lanyard.
