Making Salts (4- to 6-)

There are four ways of producing a salt: Three different acids:

a) Acid + Alkali → Salt + Water • Hydrochloric acid (HCl)


b) Acid + Metal → Salt + Hydrogen • Sulfuric acid (H2SO4)
c) Acid + Metal Oxide → Salt + Water • Nitric acid (HNO3)
d) Acid + Metal Carbonate → Salt + Water + Carbon Dioxide
