Directions:
1. Using Quizlet, create a set of flashcards for the vocabulary terms in this lesson. The terms
you must include are: allele, dominant, recessive, genotype, phenotype, homozygous,
heterozygous, purebred, and hybrid. The vocabulary term will go on the front of the
flashcard, and the definition will go on the back. One picture must be included on each
flashcard.
2. Complete the Bikini Bottom Genetics worksheet using Kami. Log on to eKanence and in our
lesson folder there will be an assignment titled “Bikini Bottom Genetics”. Click on the
assignment and it will open with Kami. Complete all questions on the worksheet and submit
it when you are done.
3. Create a comic strip that describes a family’s traits. Do with this what you will and be
creative! Come up with a fictional family, or draw inspiration from your own! The comic must
be at least 4 frames and include the use of at least 5 of the following vocabulary terms:
allele, dominant, recessive, genotype, phenotype, homozygous, heterozygous, purebred,
and hybrid.
4. Compose a song about a family’s traits and post it to the provided Jamboard. Click the next
arrow at the top to add a slide. Do with this what you will and be creative! Come up with a
fictional family, or draw inspiration from your own! Your song must have an intro, middle,
and end, and include the use of at least 5 of the following vocabulary terms: allele,
dominant, recessive, genotype, phenotype, homozygous, heterozygous, purebred, and
hybrid.
5. Write a scientific journal entry and post it to the provided Jamboard. Click the next arrow at
the top to add a slide.You are a geneticist researching twins and have just made an amazing
discovery! You decide what you have discovered! Be imaginative (and appropriate).Your
journal entry must be at least 10 sentences and use at least 5 of the following vocabulary
terms: allele, dominant, recessive, genotype, phenotype, homozygous, heterozygous,
purebred, and hybrid.
6. Create a presentation on Google Slides re-teaching the vocabulary. You must include each of
the following vocabulary terms: allele, dominant, recessive, genotype, phenotype,
homozygous, heterozygous, purebred, and hybrid, and their definitions. You must also
include a picture and example for each. Make your presentation visually appealing!

Scoring: Each activity you complete is worth 5 points each, with a total of 15 points possible for
the choice board assignment.
