About NPTI (PSTI), Bengaluru
National Power Training Institute (NPTI), an ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 organization under Ministry of
Power, Government of India is a National Apex body for Training and Human Resources Development
in Power Sector. NPTI is operating on all India basis with its corporate office at Faridabad (Delhi NCR)
and its eleven regional institutes at Alappuzha (Kerala), Badarpur (New Delhi), PSTI, Bengaluru, HLTC,
Bengaluru, Neyveli (TN), Guwahati, Nagpur, Durgapur (WB), Shivpuri (MP) and Nangal (Punjab). In
1972, Government of India established “Load Despatch Training Institute” (LDTI) under CEA at
Bangalore for planning and managing large regional power grids. The LDTI was renamed as “Power
Systems Training Institute” (PSTI) to cover other facets of power system operation also. April, 2002
PSTI is merged with NPTI. PSTI is involved in training of practicing Power Sector engineers in Power
System Planning, Design, Operation, Maintenance, Control, Protection, Testing, Simulation and
Despatcher functions. Apart from the in-house faculty, training is also imparted through the faculty
drawn from among practicing engineers of reputed R&D Institutes like IISc, CPRI and organizations
like Power Grid, KPTCL, KPCL, NTPC, NHPC, PR&DC, BSNL, NPCIL and manufacturers like ABB,
BHEL, Areva T&D, Easun Reyrolle, Schneider, etc.

ATAL ACADEMY
National ATAL Academy is established with the vision to empower faculty in achieving goals of
Educational Excellence. AICTE is committed for development of quality technical education in the
country by initiating various schemes launched by Govt. of India, MHRD. These programs have been
designed to fulfill the need to train the young generation in skill sector and having faculty & technicians
to be trained in their respective disciplines.

Resource Person:
Eminent experts from power sectors, automotive industries, scientist and expert professional shall be
invited to share their experiences and discussions during the program.

Eligibility:
Industry professionals, faculty members, research scholars, post-graduate students of any AICTE
approved institution can attend the FDP. At the end of online FDP, participants will be awarded with
an e-certificate. Attendance of at least 80%, a score of 60% in the quiz and feedback form in the ATAL
portal are mandatory for the e-certificate to be issued.
