The recommendation are based on information gathered from my investigation.
Following the matter that 50% of the employees fell sick ( stomach upset) From 11 may
to 13 may.you asked me to investigate the reason behind this problem.

Followings are my findings

 Food Intolerances: the food that has been served isn‟t suitable for the employees ,
it causes stomach upset.
 Food poisoning: the food consumed that day was contaminated that‟s the reason ,
the employee got affected by stomach upset.
 Contamination of ingredients: the ingredients which were used to make food ,
some ingredients are outdated ( date expired) & converts the menu into
unhygienic.
 Polluted water : The bottle of water which was supplied was contaminated.

Answer to the question 7

My literature review based on a research paper. The Research on Investigation the impacts of
store environment and facilities on consumer buying behaviour towards cloths: Comparative
study of Primark, M & S and Top Shop.

Literature review

Introduction

The literature review is done on the basis of various consumer behavior models. The implication
and details analysis of the factors that is present in the model has been presented in the review.
Along with that, various impact that the retail store facility and design can have impact and
influencing the buying behavior of the consumer has been illustrated through the literature
review.

Consumer behavior

Consumer behavior means how individuals make decisions to spend their available resources
like time, money, effort on consumption of different products and services. It includes what they
buy, why they buy it, when they buy it, where they buy it, how often they buy it, and how often
they use it. Consumer behavior is the actions a person takes in purchasing and using products
and services, including the mental and social processes that precede and follow these actions
(Schiffman, 2008).

Moreover, Kanuk (2008) defined consumer behavior to be the behavior that consumers display
in searching for, purchasing. using, evaluating and disposing of products, services and ideas
which they expect will satisfy their needs”. Consumer behavior is the way an individual acts
while obtaining and using goods and services. This act involves a decision process and the
individual, in turn, is influenced by his personal characteristics and environmental factors.

Therefore, from the critical discussion we can relate that consumer behavior is the complex
process that involves the entire buying process of the consumer from the recognition of needs to
going through the entire process of purchasing the product and ending with the cognitive
situation and perception that is generated through the post purchase evaluation of the entire
decision of the consumer. The post decision evaluation and cognitive perception will impact on
the after decision of the consumer. The entire cycling process of this behavior is regarded as the
consumer behavior.

Models of Consumer Buying Behavior

Traditional Model

Economic model

Customer behavior is influenced through various factors, among the factors one of the leading
factor is the price of the product (Hill, 2007). If in case of a certain consumer behavior, if the
economic factors which is the price of the product and the cost that is involved in the purchase is
within the affordability of the customer then the customer behavior will be positive towards the
product. Customer always measures the difference between the cost and the benefit that the
customer get from the product. If there is a sufficient amount of difference then the customer will
be satisfied and that will lead to customer retention and profitability of the organization. This
situation is covered through the economic model of consumer behaviour.
Criticism of Economic model

However, Hwang (2006) criticized the economic model and identified some variables that are
not present in the economic model. Along with that he added that the advantage of this model is
that, it focuses on the aspect of economically not anything else and that can be also regarded as
the disadvantage for the model. To illustrate on the internal factors of customer behavior he came
up with the learning model.

Advantage and Disadvantage

The economic model of consumer behavior focuses on the idea that a consumer‟s buying pattern
is based on the idea of getting the most benefits while minimizing costs. Thus, one can predict
consumer behavior based on economic indicators such as the consumer‟s purchasing power and
the price of competitive products

Learning model

Moreover, Hwang (2006) identified, that this model is based on the idea that consumer behavior
is governed by the need to satisfy basic and learned needs. Basic needs include food, clothing
and shelter, while learned needs include fear and guilt. Thus, a consumer will have a tendency to
buy things that will satisfy their needs and provide satisfaction. A hungry customer may pass up
on buying a nice piece of jewelry to buy some food, but will later go back to purchase the
jewelry once her hunger is satisfied.

Criticism of learning model

The learning model is criticism for not considering the external factors and the inept qualities of
customers that constructs the behavior of the individual, to overcome that we can illustrate the
psychoanalytical model that views at this model from a broader perspective.

Psychoanalytic model

For the customer to behave in a positive or negative way there are various factors of the human
being that constitutes the customer behavior. For instance, the inner nature, liking and reference
of the customer will affect on the behavior of the customer and based on the perception,
experience, knowledge of the product or the service the customer will be able to behavior
towards the product in a certain way, The psychoanalytical model focuses on the factor stat
creates the psychoanalytical framework that the customer has to go through in case of any
behavior.

Criticism of psychoanalytical model

The psychoanalytical model focuses on the inner drive and perception of the individual that
directs him to behave in ac certain way, however there are various sociological factors that
affects the behavior and perception of the individual (Hill 2007), this can be known from the
sociological model as the criticism of the psychoanalytical model is that it does not address the
impact of social culture and norms in case of decision making.

Contemporary models

S O R model is tested with the Behavior Scan panel data of Information Resources Incorporated.
The results show significant influences on consumers' item purchases and store patronage
(Buckley 1991). Moreover, Patrick (1991) through a consecutive research stated that, there are
important influences of store attributes, item characteristics, and consumer characteristics. The
selection of a store is not found to be significantly related to which item is purchased by a
consumer. The results imply that brands' marketing strategies should include stores' attributes as
well as item and consumer characteristics. However, Berkman (1994) in the contrary said that
The model includes variables for consumers, items, and store attributes. There are variables for
the consumers' characteristics since many previous research results show that a person's
characteristics have some influence on his or her actions (Peacock and Sen 1978).An S-O-R
model is developed for consumers' purchases of items in stores.

create a hypothetical situation to identify the Gaps :

1 : Deficiency in store design will minimize the customer purchase decision.

2 Store environment has impact on customer buying behavior.

3. Store environment should be more decorative and distinctive

4 Product management of the stores should be satisfactory for the customers.

5 Customers should have positive post purchase evaluation of the products.

Hand notes for the set speech

“BRITAIN AWAKE “

Margaret Thatcher

Margaret Thatcher, who served as Britain‟s first and only female prime minister from 1975 to
1990, died of a stroke at the age of 87. Whatever opinions of the “Iron Lady,” her speeches are
great examples of rhetorical and argumentative skill.

To honor her, we‟ve analyzed the “Britain Awake” speech, delivered at Kensington Hall in 1976
to warn British officials of the rising threat of Russia, whose leaders, she said, were “bent on
world dominance.” This speech prompted the Soviet int of pride.

For the second half of the 20th century, the world was divided between two ideologies,
communism and capitalism. We call this time period of roughly 1953 to 1989 the Cold War. It
was an age characterized by division, competition, and really catchy nicknames. American
presidents John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan were called Cold Warriors, Reagan called the
USSR the Evil Empire and the area under Soviet control was the Iron Curtain. In the world of
ideological monikers, one woman rose above the rest. Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister
of England for three terms from 1979 to 1990. As Britain's first (and so far only) female Prime
Minister, and as one of the only female world leaders of the Cold War, Thatcher came to be an
impressive figure, which of course meant that she needed a nickname: the Iron Lady. How'd she
get this name? From a speech she gave in 1976 called Britain Awake. This speech epitomized
the political ideology, leadership style, and wit of the woman who would become Britain's Iron
Lady.

Public speaking helped to fuel and sustain the rise of Margaret Thatcher, who became the first
woman to lead a major Western democracy, re-elected three times as Prime Minister of England.
But long before anyone knew her, it was her speaking that made her stand out. In the early
1950s, during her first run for a seat in Parliament, she was the youngest woman candidate in
England, and her biography notes that:
Unlike many Conservatives at that time, she had little difficulty getting a hearing from any
audience and she spoke easily, with force and confidence, on issues that mattered to the
voters.Thatcher, who said in an interview as late as 1973 that she didn't think there would be a
woman prime minister, was the Conservative party leader and a few years away from that role
yet when she gave her so-called "Iron Lady" speech, titled "Britain Awake," making the case for
strengthening the nation's
defenses, particularly against the threat of an attack from Soviet Russia. This Cold War speech
gave Thatcher the nickname she would carry from then on: Within a few days of this speech, the
Soviet Army newspaper Red Star had dubbed her the "Iron Lady," and the nickname stuck.

The "Iron Lady" tag was used, variously, to describe her strong conservative principles and
defense strategies, but also to suggest that she was "harsh or uncaring in her politics." Thatcher--
whose face was put on everything from china cups to toilet paper during her terms as Prime
Minister--made light of the title in a dinner speech to British conservatives:
What puts the spine in the "Iron Lady" speech? Here's what to look for:

A strong, declarative voice: No hesitating "you knows" or "likes" in this speech. "Let us,"
"Let's," "we must" are her call-to-action constructions. This is old-school rhetoric, and it works
in a speech that ultimately helped her to rise to lead a nation. It's strong and confident, and
doesn't back into any of its points, but meets them head-on. Her words embrace the policy and
push it forward.

Using opposites to create contrast and transition: "I would be the first to welcome any
evidence that the Russians are ready to enter into a genuine detente. But I am afraid that the
evidence points the other way" allows her to move from positive to negative points while
appearing measured and balanced. It moves the speech forward, and the contrast helps to make
this a memorable line. It also tells you where she stands, both by clarifying her position and
taking the time to look at her opponent's stance--a double reinforcement of her point.
Wry humor, even when discussing serious topics: "If there are further cuts, perhaps
the Defence Secretary should change his title, for the sake of accuracy, to the Secretary for
Insecurity" typifies a Thatcher tactic of looking for a laugh, even a small one, well into a speech
in which she's laying down a strict policy proposal. It provides needed relief to the speech, and
lets the audience release emotions that might be building--a great tactic any speaker can use to
good effect.

Few leaders have to announce a retirement from public speaking, but because she was such a
frequent speaker throughout her career, Thatcher did just that in March 2001, after a series of
small strokes. She's the subject of a film titled "Iron Lady," starring Meryl Streep, that's due out
in January 2012. In this preview clip, you can see her in a meeting early in her political career
with two male advisers, discussing her public image and her public speaking.
