the environment.

government in order to advance the well-being of
consumers, families, and communities.
• concerned with the research and decision-making
processes that consumers use when making important
purchases.
Why is Consumer Science important?
• consumer science education help in
cultivating the essential skill of managing
various challenges related to limited
resources and unlimited wants by enhancing
their understanding as consumers and
helping them in living a better life.
Consumer Scientist
• the primary job of a consumer scientist is to monitor, analyze and
draw meaningful results out of data provided about consumer
trends and preferences.

• use their knowledge to study these trends and then identify why
consumers buy certain products and help in developing plans for
retailers and manufacturers to boost their sales.

• help consumers in making better decisions and improve their


lifestyle by educating them into making better decisions.
