At the end of this topic, the participants are

• Publish a website in Google Sites
• Modify and republish a website in Google
Sites
• Unpublish a website in Google Sites
• Conduct basic website maintenance

 Publishing your Site

To start publishing your website, click Publish button.

On the Web address box, type your desired web

address. A check mark will appear if the web address
is available.

Next, click the MANAGE text.

Under Published site, change the setting to Public.

To view the published website, you can directly type its
web address on the address bar.
You can also choose the View Published Site menu on
the Publish button.

 Editing a Published Site
When a site is already published, any changes on the
drafts are NOT automatically added on the published
site.
To add any changes on the published site, you can
click the Publish button.

Google Sites will open the Review changes and
publish page. Here you can review any changes on
the draft before publishing.

 How to Unpublish your Site

To Unpublish your site, click the drop-down button,

then choose Unpublish.

A message box will appear confirming your choice.

To unpublish the site, click Got it.

Website maintenance is the act of

regularly checking your website for issues
and mistakes and keeping it updated and
relevant.

To be done weekly
✓ Check that all of your pages are loading without errors.
✓ Run a backup and make sure a previous version of your
site is stored.
✓ Check that all of your forms are running properly.
✓ Remove any spam comments from pages and posts.
✓ Check your pages to see if there are any broken links.
✓ Search for 404 errors and fix or redirect.
