1 INT. THERAPY ROOM - DAY 1

JOY, The youngest in the family who is having mental

problems, is in a therapy session wherein the THERAPIST asks
her about her sister’s death.

JOY
Bata palang ako, siya na kasama ko
sa buhay. Palagi siyang nadiyan
para sakin. Hindi niya ko iniiwan
kapag meron akong problema.
(beat)
Hindi lang siya tumayo bilang ate
ko, pero kaibigan ko na din. Mabait
siya, matulungin, maasahan.
(beat)
Mahal na mahal ko siya kasi hindi
na pinaramdam na nag-iisa ako....

THERAPIST (O.C.)
Asan siya ngayon?

Joy looks at the therapist with teary eyes.

2 INT. BATHROOM - DUSK 2

As they got home from the funeral, Joy lets her emotions out
in the bathroom. Her head is very noisy where voices are
talking to Joy. Joy can’t keep up with what she is
experiencing. She opens the faucet and--

3 INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY - FLASHBACK 3

ANDREI, Joy’s brother, is calling someone over the phone

telling him that Alex was in an accident.

ANDREI
(shocked)
Ha? Ano nangyari kay Alex?!

Joy is besides her brother ang she suddenly bursts into tears
hearing what was said over the phone.

4 EXT. CEMETERY - DAY - FLASHBACK - CONTINUOUS 4

Joy, her brother, and her sister’s friends are all mourning
at the funeral of ALEX, Joy’s sister. All of the friends
leave the scene leaving Joy and Andrei where Joy screams in
grief and Andrei holds her to make her stop.

5 BACK TO SCENE 5

Joy is sitting on the floor remembering those memories.

Andrei knocks on the door-

ANDREI
Hoy, wag ka nga magsayang ng tubig!

Joy snaps back to reality. She stands up and looks at the

mirror. With the faucet still open, she washes her face to
freshen herself before leaving the bathroom.

7 INT. BEDROOM - DAY 7

Joy wakes up from the nightmare sweating where she is lying a

foam on the floor beside the bed. Joy looks at the bed beside
her where Alex is supposed to be sleeping at. As she looks at
it, she hear a memory of her sister’s voice in her head-

ALEX (V.O.)
Joy, gising ka na. Ma l-late ka na
sa school mo.

Sadness fills up Joy’s emotion as she is about to cry until-

‘knock, knock’

ALEX (O.C.)
(softly)
Joy... kain na tayo.

JOY
Ate?

Joy is confused as she hears her sister’s voice outside the

door calling her. She immediately stands up and opens the
door but there is nobody there. At this point, Joy is scared
as she feels like she is haunted by her sister.

8 INT. DINING AREA - DAY 8

Joy goes downstairs and sees her brother sitting at the table
reading a notebook that was given to him by Alex. Andrei
hears Joy and hides the notebook.

Joy sits down at the opposite side where Andrei is sitting.

The two siblings shares an awkward silence with each other.
Joy slowly gets rice to her plate while Andrei stares at Joy,
being irritated for how slow Joy gets the rice.

ANDREI
Tangina, ang bagal!

Joy flinches as Andrei drops his utensils and leaves Joy

alone in the table. Joy feels a heavy heart as she bursts
into tears and whispers to herself-

JOY
(whispers)
Sorry, sorry, sorry...

Then a voice from the opposite side of the table mocks Joy-

EVIL JOY (O.C.)

Aww... iiyak ka nanaman?

Joy looks up and sees EVIL JOY where Andrei is sitting a

while ago.

EVIL JOY (CONT'D)

Ginalit mo nanaman kuya mo, ang
tanga tanga mo naman. Kaya iniiwan
ka ng mga tao sa paligid mo kasi
wala kang kwenta.

JOY
Tama na... pagod na ‘ko.

EVIL JOY
Wala kang kwenta (x5)

Joy stands up from the chair and sees no one sitting at the
other side of the table but she can still hear Evil Joy’s
voice in her head. She runs up the stairs and into her room.

9 INT. BEDROOM - DAY - CONTINUOUS 9

Joy SLAMS the door and finally hears silence. She cries and
drops on the floor while leaning on the door behind her.

- Evil Joy conversation

- Joy can’t sleep

- Joy enters the room in her uniform an with a bad holding a

report card.

- Joy reading a textbook where she can’t understand what she

is reading.

- Joy having nightmares

Joy wakes up in the morning from another nightmare. Joy goes

out of the room and down to the dining area.

11 INT. DINING AREA - DAY 11

The two siblings are sitting again in opposite from each

other. Joy is eating silently and Andrei gets irritated.

ANDREI
Wala ka bang sasabihin, Joy?

Joy takes a while to answer

JOY
Bakit po?

ANDREI
Tumawag yung school mo. Bagsak ka
daw. Pati ba naman pag-aaral ‘di mo
maayos? Kung ganyan ka, wag ka
nalang mag-aral. Aksaya ka lang sa
pera. Tangina ka talaga.

Joy did not response.

ANDREI (CONT'D)
Wala ka talagang kwentang kausap...

Andrei walks out leaving Joy alone again. Joy looks at her
food and slides the plate as she does not want to eat
anymore. Joy stands up and walks toward the mirror where she
sees her nose bleeding in her reflection. Joy wipes her nose
and sees no blood in her hand. As she looks up, her nose is
bleeding again. She wipes her nose for the second time and
sees no blood in her hand again. She looks up for the third
time and sees her whole face covered in blood. Joy panics as
she sees herself in the reflection. She tries to wipe it all
until she eventually SCREAMS.

Coming from the kitchen area, Andrei rushes to Joy to check

her out.

ANDREI (CONT'D)
Hoy, ano nangyayari sayo?!

JOY
(stuttering)
Kuya... may d-dugo.

Joy is panicking as she continuously wipe her face. However,

there is no blood in her face and is just a hallucination.

ANDREI
Ha? Anong dugo?!

Joy looks at her hands and see no blood. She looks again in
the mirror and there is no blood in her face.
JOY
(stuttering)
P-pero... pero.

ANDREI
Baliw ka ba, Joy?! Anong dugo
pinagsasabi mo? Para kang tanga!

JOY
(whispers, stuttering)
Si ate... maniniwala si ate

Andrei widens his eyes as he hear those words.

ANDREI
Ate? Hanggang ngayon hinahanap mo
parin ate mo?! Isang buwan na
lumipas, Joy! Bakit di mo parin
tanggap na wala na si Alex! Ano ba
nangyayari sayo? Pwede bang tigil-
tigilan mo na yang kaartehan mo?
Hindi na tayo babalikan ni Alex!

JOY
Hindi! Hindi!
Suddenly, Joy hears Alex’s voice from upstairs calling her.

ALEX (V.O.)
Joy!

Joy looks back and runs up the stairs. Andrei is confused and
calls Joy out.

ANDREI
Joy!

12 INT. BEDROOM - DAY - CONTINUOUS 12

Joy enters the room and see no one in there. Voices starts to
talk to Joy and Joy cries hard. Her head is noisy because of
the voices so she covers her ears.

JOY
Tama na. Tama na. Tama na.

13 INT. DINING AREA - DAY - CONTINUOUS 13

Andrei is looking upstairs and is confused about Joy’s

attitude. He looks at the mirror.

14 BACK TO SCENE 14

Joy has calmed down a bit and is now writing something in her
diary but with teary eyes.

CUT TO:

15 INT. THERAPY ROOM - DAY 15

Joy is sitting down in a chair in the therapy room crying

while telling her story.

THERAPIST
Nung sinabi mo about sa salamin,
did you still encounter experiences
similar to that?

Joy nods.

16 INT. DINING AREA - DAY 16

Joy is sitting alone on the table eating and with a spare

plate at the opposite side on the table that is meant for
Andrei. Joy looks at her food and hears Alex in a memory.

ALEX (V.O.)
Ubusin mo, ah! Luto ni ate yan kaya
masarap.

Joy smiles a bit and nod. Her smile fade as she hears heavy
footsteps from upstairs.

ANDREI
Joy! Ba’t nasayo ‘to?!

Andrei is holding a notebook that he thought is his but is

actually Joy’s. He is frustrated because he thought that Joy
stole his notebook.

ANDREI (CONT'D)
Bakit ka nangingi-alam ng gamit ng
iba? May sira ka ba sa utak?!

JOY
(cannot make out words)
B-bakit... po

ANDREI
Eto na nga lang ala-ala ko kay Alex
tas’ kukunin mo pa?
JOY
Kuya... hindi po.

ANDREI
Tila donya ka na nga sa bahay, ikaw
pa may ganang magnakaw diyan! Kung
maka asta ka diyan parang ikaw lang
nawalan ng kapatid! Ba’t mo ba
laging pinapairal kaartehan mo,
ha?! Sa susunod na abutin kita, ‘di
lang sigaw aabutin mo sakin!

Joy is breathing faster ang faster as she can’t take it

anymore. Voices starts to get louder and louder in Joy’s head
as her brother’s voice fades. Joy covers her ears and then-

‘PSST’

Something calls for Joy’s attention making her look at the

side. As she looks at the side, Joy is ‘teleported’ into-

17 EXT. EMPTY ROAD - DUSK 17

Joy looks around and sees an unusual place. Suddenly, Joy

hears her sister calling her from her back.

ALEX (V.O.)
Joy?

Joy turns around and sees Evil Joy with blood all over her
body. Joy is shocked and widen her eyes as she sees herself.
Evil Joy starts talking but with the voice of Alex.

EVIL JOY (ALEX’S VOICE)

Joy...

JOY
Ate?

Evil Joy starts speaking in Alex’s voice but with a mocking

expression. She looks at Joy with eyes full of insanity which
makes Joy more confused and terrified on why her counterpart
has her sister’s voice.

EVIL JOY (ALEX’S VOICE)

Joy! Ayoko na dito! Nasasaktan
nako, Joy. Halika dito... tulungan
mo ko.

Joy slowly steps forward but having doubts in her actions.

EVIL JOY (ALEX’S VOICE) (CONT'D)

Tulungan mo ko, Joy.

JOY
(confused)
Hindi... hindi ikaw si ate.

Evil Joy stares at Joy.

EVIL JOY
Joy... kasalanan mo ‘tong lahat.

Evil Joy’s voice starts to blend with Alex’s voice. Joy is

now more confused.

EVIL JOY (CONT'D)

Kasalanan mo ‘to, Joy. Kasalanan mo
‘to

Evil Joy keeps on repeating those words as she raises one of

her hand holding a knife. Joy is now terrified and starts to
step back slowly while Evil Joy steps forward slowly.

Evil Joy STOPS talking and moving and she suddenly SNAPS her
neck and run towards Joy. Joy SCREAMS and runs as well. While
running, Evil Joy repeats her words again.
EVIL JOY (CONT'D)
Kasalanan mo ‘to. Kasalanan mo ‘to!

Joy eventually reaches her house and she tries to open the
gate but it is taking too long. Evil Joy is slowly getting
closer to Joy. Joy finally managed to open the gate and she
opens the front door and SLAMMING it shut.

18 INT. LIVING ROOM - DUSK - CONTINUOUS 18

Joy stops and is out of breath, shaking due to fear. She

looks forward and suddenly, Evil Joy is in front of her and
she run towards Joy extending her arms. Then, Joy realizes
that it is her brother who is holding her waking her back to
reality.

ANDREI
Hoy, joy! Ano nangyayari sayo!

JOY
(crying)
Ayoko na! Tama na!

19 INT. THERAPY ROOM - DAY 19

JOY
--Ayun po, lagi ko po siyang
nakikita. Lagi niya pong sinsabi na
wala akong kwenta.

THERAPIST
Eh, ang kuya mo? Hindi ba kayo nag-
uusap?

JOY
Nag-uusap po... hindi ko nga po
alam kung ano nangyari pero-

20 INT. DINING AREA - DAY 20

Joy came from the bathroom when her brother calls her with a
calm manner.

ANDREI
Joy, kain na tayo.

Joy is slightly confused with the shift in her brother’s

tone.

JOY
Okay po.

Joy sits at the table with slight tension. Andrei sighs and
this time, he is the one who gets Joy’s food. As he gets the
food, he also gets his plate and places it beside Joy. Joy
flinches as her brother gets closer to her. Andrei smiles at
Joy and Joy feels confused.
 10.

INT. BEDROOM - DAY

Joy is lying on her ‘bed’ when she hears her brother outside
talking to someone. Joy stands up and goes near to the door.
She leans forward to hear it better.

ANDREI (O.S.)
--Kailangan nating ipadala doon si
Joy, ma.

Joy is shocked. Her heartbeat raises as she becomes nervous

with what she heard. Joy looks at the mirror and sees herself
smiling. She moves closer to the mirror.

EVIL JOY

Narinig mo yon, Joy? Pinapalayas ka

na.
(mockingly)
Dadalin ka dun, oh. Dadalin ka dun
sa malayo. Ayaw na ng kuya mo sayo.
Hindi ka na niya tinuturing na
kapatid.

JOY
Hindi totoo yan. Wala naman akong
ginawa.

EVIL JOY
Ayun na nga, eh. Wala kang
ginagawa... kasi wala kang silbi.
Hindi mo ba nakikita? Sawang sawa
na sila sa kaartehan mo. Hindi ka
na nila kayang pakisamahan, kaya
iniiwan ka nalang nila... gaya ng
ate mo.

JOY
Hindi ako iniwan ni ate. Tama na!
Tigilan mo ‘ko

EVIL JOY
Diba nga sabi ko sayo? Hindi kita
titigilan hangga’t di ka pa patay-

JOY
Layuan mo nako! (x3)

EVIL JOY
Ano, nasasaktan ka na? Hindi ka
kasi nakikinig sakin. Diba sabi ko?
‘magpakamatay ka na’!

JOY
Tama na, tama na, tama na!

Joy cries harder and she becomes hysterical as she messes her
room. She then drops on the floor and SCREAM. Her brother
enters the room worried.

ANDREI
Joy! Anong nangyayari sayo?

Joy continues to cry and does not able to respond.

ANDREI (CONT'D)
Sabihin mo sakin, Joy. Anong
nangyayari? Hayaan mo akong
tulungan ka.
JOY
Iwan mo nako.

ANDREI
Pagbuksan mo kami. Pagbuksan mo
ako, Joy. Hindi ka nagiisa.

JOY
Hindi, hindi mo naman ako
naiintindihan...

ANDREI
Joy, makinig ka. Alam kong
nagkulang ako noon kaya kahit pa
itaboy moko, hindi na ulit kita
iiwan.

JOY
Anong hindi iiwan? Pinapaalis niyo
nga ako, diba? Narinig kita, kuya!

ANDREI
Hindi, Joy. Nagkakamali ka...
Nabasa ko na lahat..

INT. 2ND FLOOR HALLWAY - DAY - FLASHBACK

INSERT: Andrei going upstairs holding ‘his’ notebook when he

sees another notebook by the shoe rack. Andrei is confused as
he grab the ‘other’ notebook only to find out that it is his.
The other notebook that he holds is Joy’s. He opens the
notebook and sees Joy’s writing in a form of a diary.

ANDREI (V.O.)
(from scene before)
Naiintindihan na kita, Joy.
(MORE)

ANDREI (V.O.) (CONT'D)

Alam ko nang mahirap yung
pinagdadaanan mo. Kaya nga nandito
na ako.

BACK TO SCENE

ANDREI
Hayaan mo’kong bumawi, Joy. Pwede
mo na akong sandalan.

Joy looks at her brother’s eyes and releases her emotions to

him. Joy hugs him and-

JOY
(weakly)
Kuya, ang hirap. Napapagod nako.

ANDREI
Andito na ako, Joy. Hindi ka na nag-
iisa. Magiging okay lang ang
lahat...

Joy sighs in relief.

CUT TO:

INT. THERAPY ROOM - DAY

TEXT: One month later

JOY
-Buti nalang po, napilit ni kuya si
mama na dalin ako dito noon. Nung
una po kasi, ayaw pa po maniwala ni
mama na may sakit ako. Si kuya
narin po nag-ipon para dito.

Umiinom gamot.
Tinutulungan sa acad
Open up sa friends
