STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

My name is Athira Prabha. I’m from India. After 10th grade, I enrolled for science stream in plus
two, then I graduated in Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Kerala University. I was very good
at interaction with people and was very active in college, hence one of my professors recommended me for a
vacancy for HR trainee at Malabar Escapes

In September 2017, I started my career with Malabar Escapes, which is a hotel group as a HR
Trainee. Since I’m a Computer Science graduate HR was entirely a new field for me. I started learning the
HR functions during my training period and gradually I could gain a lot of practical experience this filed. I
learned a lot about manpower planning, payroll processing, HR statutory compliances, handling employee
grievances and counselling them. I felt like I’m a bridge between staffs and company, I was really enjoying it
and decided to push my career this way itself. After my training period I got promoted as HR Assistant and
in 2020 as HR Executive which was my last held designation with Malabar Escapes Group. In November
2020 during pandemic, I joined with Credence Hospital Pvt. Ltd. as a Senior HR Officer and currently
working here now.

Now feel like I need more knowledge regarding human resource field to give a boost to my career, hence I
decided to study M.Sc. in Human Resources Management which will give me an opportunity to develop a
comprehensive understanding of Human Resources Management and subject specific knowledge in several
areas which will also helpful for achieving higher levels of HR profession.

I firmly believe this University will provide me a platform to learn and grow as a professional, and bring my
aspirations to reality. I know that the education system in UK includes not only theory but also the practical
side of the course we study. The practical experience gained after program will also increase my personal and
professional skills that are necessary for a manager to excel in professional life.

It will also provide me greater confidence to go ahead and take up jobs which I’m assigned to in a better way.
I hope to get admission in the University. So that I feel happy, and turn my dreams into reality. With time, I
wish to fulfil my vision of holding a top hierarchy position in a reputed multinational company.
