Study Plan

My name is I Dewa Ayu Amanda Manikasari, I am a Harapan Vocational School graduate

and currently living in Bali. I graduated in 2017 and I took tourism business as my major.
The reason I want to learn Mandarin is that Mandarin is the second international language
after English, and I can also learn to develop my business with mandarin in the future. After I
came back to Indonesia, I also would like to build my own start-up business.
Introduction of my background
I was born in Denpasar, Bali and I am the first child. I have one younger brother and one
younger sister. In 2014, I was admitted to Harapan Vocational School which is known for its
tourism major in Bali. There, I took tourism business for 3 years with 4 months of training in
a Japanese travel agency. After I graduated, I worked as a reservation staff in a Chinese
market travel agency for 2 years. With the training and experience I have in the business
industry, I learned a lot about products, organization management, networking, and problem-
solving. Even if I was already trained and working professionally, I still feel that it is not
enough to start my own start-up business with the knowledge I have and would like to chase
further with taking a bachelor degree in Human Resource Management.
Why I do Choose to study in China?
In China, business is very advanced ever since the early days and has become one of the most
impactful countries in various fields. Even in this pandemic situation, China's economy rises
by 8,1% in 2021 (according to cnn.com). China is also one of the most interesting tourism
destinations with a lot of unique cultural and historical background which makes me decide
that I will choose China as the country I am getting my bachelor degree. There is even a
saying in Indonesia that sounds like “seek knowledge to the land of China”, this saying is
also one of the reasons I want to continue my study in China. Graduated from China will be
one of the most beneficial things for me in my career path in the future and will be a precious
chance to be able to study in the business country and learn with the best professors in the
management field, which I believe will be so useful to be used in my future business plan.
Why do I choose Human Resource Management?
Human resource is one of the most important components in a company, moreover a start-up
company. The leaders of the company will try to find the most competent employee in their
field. I chose human resource management because I want to find the most competent people
for the company I am working at. Also, I believe the knowledge will be useful for me in the
future where I will build my own company and will start to find employees by myself. By the
time I started my own company, I will understand already how to recruit employees properly
and how to be a good recruiter. Being a part of the management department is one of my
dreams, hence I chose this major.
Goal of study
During my bachelor’s program, I am planning to take compulsory classes and optional
classes to be eligible for graduation. Along with my bachelor’s degree program, I will also
train my Mandarin skill actively. Currently, I already have HSK level 4 certification and I am
planning to get to HSK level 6 by the time I graduated. In the future, I would like to expand
my knowledge and experiences in business and apply the theories I learned in college. I plan
to do my training in multinational companies like Asus, Tencent, or Walmart. Other than that,
I will also participate in the Indonesian Student Association program where I will gather
together with Indonesian international students to find more motivation and input from the
members so I can be a better student.
