How to change ID number of motor board

In the analyser 6 motor boards are present.

Each boards control a motor, for a total of 6 motors.
All these boards are connected with a multidrop type bus, that gives power supply for logic
and motor winding, plus communcation data to each one of the boards.

MOTOR BOARDS IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (ID)

ID Board Function
3 110700 Syringe
4 110700 Horizontal arm
5 110700 Sample rotor
6 110700 Vertical arm
7 110700 Filter wheel
8 110700 Peristaltic pump
As the table above is showing, all this 6 boards are absolutely the same in software and
hardware, with the exception of a IDENTIFICATION CODE in the software.
This procedure shows how to change the identification code:

1. Start with the instrument OFF.

2. Disconnect the bus connector (8 pin ) from board 110704 as shown in picture below (A
and B connection), in order to isolate all the boards from power supply and
communication.

B 110704
110704 A

3. Attach the target board to one of the disconnected bus cables (i.e. A)

4. Switch on the instrument

5. Wait for the initialization. The instrument will probably say “Timeout error” or “instrument
not connected”.
6. In both the case, exit from the instrument software and return to the operating system.
7. Be sure that no applications are running in the background (such as “XXXkernel”),
occuping the serial port. If some applications are running, you must quit them with
CTRL+ALT+CANC keys and “Task manager” menu.
8. Enter the directory c:\instrument
9. Locate the file Mod.bat
10. Enter Password (service) when required
11. Go to assign PID
12. Select the desired PID and press Assign to execute the programmation.

Note:
You get message if the programmation is correctly executed.
If you get “Error message”, it means that the PID needs to be erased. To erase the PID, just
click the Erase mark.
