1. very angry:
"The argument made me very angry and I stormed out of the room."
"The argument infuriated me and I stormed out of the room."
Note: Here you can see the sentence conveys the extreme emotion and also
shortens it. The exact thing we look for while writing: To be concise and clear. )
2. very confident:
"My exam went well and I am very confident about the results now."
"My exam went well and I am convinced about the results now."
Tip: You can also use just "confident" instead of "convinced" or "very confident".
You deliver the emotion and positivity without using "very".
3. very confused:
"Sometimes the students look at me in a very confused state. I have no clue
why."
"Sometimes the students look at me all perplexed. I have no clue why."
(Again, you define the emotion and shorten the sentence.)
4. very calm:
"I sat there for hours as it was very calm around the beach."
"I sat there for hours as it was serene around the beach."
Note: Not always calm can be replaced with serene. Like, a sea, air, atmosphere,
everything can be serene but not people. I can't say, Varun was serene but
instead avoid very and quote, Varun was a calm person.
5. very hard:
"Noone in the entire room could complete the differential equation. It was very
hard to solve."
"Noone in the entire room could complete the differential equation. It was
difficult to solve."
6. very dirty:
"During the whole trip, I had to control myself as the washrooms were very dirty."
"During the whole trip, I had to control myself as the washrooms were filthy."
7. very clean:
"His police verification record was very clean. I think he was accused wrongly."
"His police verification record was spotless. I think he was accused wrongly."
8. very beautiful:
"The black furnaced eyes, the brown locks down the cheeks, the cute dimple. Oh!
She was very beautiful."
"The black furnaced eyes, the brown locks down the cheeks, the cute dimple. Oh!
she was gorgeous."
9. very shy
"My cat is very shy."
"My cat is timid."
This way you define your emotion better without using "very".
Note: You might notice how aptly the sentence has been modified.
Note: Here, it is okay to use thoughtful. But "very sweet" is not always used with
gestures. You can also say, "The kheer, you made yesterday was very sweet."
Then you might say, "The kherr, you made yesterday was sweet."
dry or arid. It is just an overuse of a wrong word. To express the dryness of skin
say, my skin isn't enough moisturized.
"It is hushed inside the museum. I would prefer to have the discussion outside."
