ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Firstly we praise and thank Almighty for the blessings he offered us throughout our
work. We express our sincere gratitude to Prof. S Viswanatha Rao, Head of the Department of
Electronics and Communication, MBCET, for the valuable guidance and assistance he has
rendered towards the successful completion of the assignment.

I am deeply obliged to our teacher, Mrs. Remya Elizabeth , for her consistent and
encouraging support and valuable guidance. We are expressing our heartfelt gratitude to all the
staff members of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering for their
profound encouragement and valuable support. Thanks to our parents and all my friends who
always stood with us and supported us.

INTRODUCTION

The circuit “AUTOMATIC SOIL MOISTURE LEVEL CONTROLLER”

mainly focus upon detecting the amount of moisture present in the soil. The
circuit detects the water content using a cmos logic inorder to reduce the
power consumption of the circuit.Whenever the moisture content is below
a stipulated level circuit automatically detects the problem and fixes it.This
innovation is a novel venture in the field of agriculture, which is gamble in
the monsoon. This circuit is capable to detect even a fine change in the
water level of the soil.As a far reaching goal we trying to include a wireless
communication system cascaded with the basic system so as to control the
operation of the pumping mechanism. We are attaching the detailed circuit
diagram of the RF module which is supposed to be used in future.Using
microcontroller interfacing we are able to control the amount of moisture
to be present in the soil. This circuit prevents the wastage of water in the
agriculture sector. This basic circuit can be used as a platform for
integrating the agriculture sector using a central database system coupled
with GPS system. This circuit can be fixed permenantly in soil and in this
position this is able to communicate with database system(and also the
pumping mechanism associated locally) via RF module and take
appropriate measures in accordance with datas preloaded in the central
database system. The database system can be updated with frequent change
in the climate pattern and thus preventing large scale set back in the
agicultural sector.

CONCLUSION
THE CIRCUIT IS REALISED USING MINIMUM COST .THE FUTURE
SCOPE OF THIS PROJECT IS THE INTRODUCTION OF A RF MODULE
INORDER TO PROVDE WIRELESS COMMUNICATION WITH THE
PUMPING MECHANISM AND AN IRRIGATION SYSTEM CONSISTING
OF A CENTRAL DATABASE SYSTEM FOLLOWED BY LOCAL
STATIONS.THUS THIS CIRCUIT ACT AS A BASIC MODEL OF
INTEGRATING AGRICULTURAL SECTOR OF THE COUNTRY AND
THUS ENABLING UPLIFTMENT OF THE FARMERS AND
INCREASING NATION’S CAPITAL RESERVE.
