Cadet or Conventional

Common Queries Among Aspiring Aviators.

• What after 10th ?

• What shall I choose after 10th ?
• How many grade shall I have in 10th ?
Apart from these questions I have to tell you all aviators that the 10th is just a step of your life.

A typical aviation job or there isn't any job that assures a job if you graduated your 10th grade.

After your 10th from a recognized institution, you will be to your next High School level.

High Scool done by an individual who has an interest in aviation (Pilot)

shall go through PCM (Physics,Chemistry & Maths) & Must be able to Read & Write English.
an individual shall require a minimum of 60% grade in each subject from a recognized board in India.

After that an individual who is having more than 60% grade in both 10th & your 12th you could either contact a
Flight School near you if it is good enough or you could directly contact a Flight School of your own, Approved by
the Indian DGCA.

Note:-
• If you haven't done your high schooling with PCM, you could do it through NIOS (National Institute of Open
Schooling).

⭐ 3 Ways to become a pilot !

1. Cadet Pilot Programme
2. Conventional Path
3. Defence

1. Cadet Pilot Programme :

A Cadet Pilot Programme is a very good programme as it offers you a job on the right seat of the
cockpit as soon as you completed your training.

In this programme the airlines is relying on the selected flight schools where the cadet(you) will be guided
thoroughly during the training and they will give specific guidance for the cadet !

Here are some links of the Cadet programme:

• Spicejet Cadet Pilot Programme:-

2. Conventional Path:
A Conventional Method will be done from a flight school you are planning to get trained and the airlines
will not hire you in the right seat directly after completing your training as you would have to wait for sometime.
The waiting period may vary accordingly depending on vacancies on airlines.

On a Conventional Path, you shall have to get CPL (Commercial Pilot License), MEIR (Multi Engine Instrument
Rating), IR (Instrument Rating or Type Rating)

Costs:

SPL + PPL + CPL -24 to 27 lakhs.

MIER - 6 lakhs
IR - 25 lakhs

Total:- 55 lakhs

But as compared to a Cadet Programme, Conventional costs you around 30 - 50 - 65 lakhs.

Note:-
• 30 lakh programme depends on the flight school you choose.

3. Defence:

Unlike the above processes the Defence doesn't require you to pay them. Serving as a pilot in the
Defence is the most valuable training as you will be trained accurately.

And after completing your training, you could do apply for a job commercially on airlines.

Note:-
• Getting into Defence is not that much easy you need well determination towards your training.
