Background

• Several operators have reported the loss of refuel caps, during or after the refuel process. In all cases the refuel caps have become
detached from the aircraft, either by damage to the lanyard, or chain which attaches the refuel cap to the aircraft.
• Aircraft can be dispatched under CDL 28-01 for up to 10 days
• In order to mitigate this risk, it is suggested that operators add paint markings on the refuel cap and surrounding panel to ensure HeatMap for A320 Component in Mar20
the cap is fully engaged as shown in Fig 1. (item A) (in red if current MTBUR is below GMTBUR)

• 9 of 12 removals of last period corresponds to aircraft with MB320 embodied, though the Removal rate has decreased during last Last 6 Months: Oct’19 Nov’19 Dec’19 Jan’20 Feb’20 Mar’20
