A. Introduction (Time Frame: First Day)
LEARNING TASK 1: Word Chase!
Directions: Encircle the ten (10) words related to packaging, storing, and delivering of laundry items and write a short description for each term on a
sheet of paper or notebook.

LEARNING TASK 2: READ AND STUDY! (LECTURE)

Directions: Read with comprehension the content review about the Important forms for packaging and storing of laundry items, ideal standards of
packaging and storing of laundry items, procedures in storing guest laundry in accordance with the establishment standards or guest request and correct
way of delivering of laundry items. This will be your guide in answering the activities on this Learner’s Packet.

A. Important forms for packaging and storing of laundry items

Form – It is a structured document used to collect required information about the person. It is usually composed of blank fields that the person can fill
in the needed data such as person’s name, address, gender, age, person’s signature etc.

1. Laundry List Form – It is a form consists of different laundry services like laundering, dry-cleaning, and pressing of clothes. The
guest will choose what services he/she prefers with corresponding prices in each service.
2. Delivery Receipt Form – It is a document form which uses to track the different transactions inside and outside of the establishments. In this form,
name of the guest/client is indicated, together with the room number he/she is in.
3. Folio – It is a document that shows the establishment’s bill that usually be paid in cash, cheque, or guest’s credit card. Other services he/she avails
during his/her stay will be included on the said folio. In closing folios, you can create client’s accounts invoices and no extra charges can be included
on the said establishment’s bill.

B. Packaging procedures of guest laundry in accordance with the ideal establishment standards or guest request
1. Knock three times on the door to acknowledge the presence of the guest attendant. Then, greet the guest and say your purpose in doing the task.
2. With the approval of the guest, get your checklist form and count the clothes that you are packing. Look for pockets if there are accessories hidden.
3. Clean the storage area thoroughly. Get rid of bugs, ants and other insects from the corners of storage area or cabinet. Use safe and odorless
insecticides intended for this purpose.
4. You can use dryer sheets for additional clean scents, but this is optional. It depends on the guest if he/she allows you to use the said dryer sheets.
5.Use sealable bags in packing clothes to prevent mildew and avoid bugs and insects coming in the clothes.
6. If you want to hang the guest’s pants, suits and, coats, use cedar hanger instead, because this acts as a natural repellent that gets rid of moths, bugs,
and insects. Cedar wood can be used as a hanger and a chip to eliminate different kinds of insects. You can use lavender for additional scent and acts as
a natural repellent too.
7. The guest attendant must be careful and polite in doing the task.
8. After packing, tell that you have finished the task. Get your checklist form and let the guest signed with his/her signature. This is to ensure that
he/she has the consent of doing the task according to the establishment’s standards.

C. Storing procedures of guest laundry in accordance with the ideal establishment standards or guest request
1. Store the guest’s clothes and linen according to their sizes. This could be to the biggest up to the smallest size.
2. Store the clothes and linen preferably sealable. Maximum of storage bag is in medium size with thirty-three gallons not more than 7.5 kilos per bag.
Again, pack them in the biggest up to the smallest size.
3. Twist the storage bag with a thin cord intended for this purpose.
4. Compress the clothes and linens by squeezing out the air but not damage the clothes. Do not tie a knot, instead make “bun” on top.
5. Label the storage bag according to guest’s information. If the payment has been made, the establishment’s official receipt will be attached on it.

D. Correct delivery of laundry items to guests


1. Arrange the storage bag inside the storage box. Hold your laundry storage box using the guest attendant’s left hand.
2. Empty the left hand by placing the folio on top of the laundry storage box.
3. Knock three times on the door to acknowledge the guest attendant’s presence.
4. Once the door has opened, remember that the guest attendant will only take one step from the door.
5. Do not close the door until acknowledged by the guest.
6. The guest attendant will greet the guest and say his/her purpose in doing the tasks.
7. Ask the guest of where the storage box be placed.
8. Present a folio to the guest and tell the payment preferences. This could be in cash, cheque, or credit card. The payment will be handled in the
Cashier’s station only. The guest attendant is not allowed to handle and receive the payments.
9. Ask the guest for any further assistance he/she needs.
10. Then, get the checklist form indicating that the guest attendant has finished the tasks. Then, ask the guest to sign his/her signature on the form to
guarantee that the services he/she avail is finished. This is also to ensure that he/she has the consent of doing the task according to the establishment’s
standards.
10. Before leaving the room, greet again the guest with polite expressions like “Thank you for choosing and staying in the establishment’s name and
Wishing you a great day sir/ma’am!”. Then, slowly close the door.

D. Assimilation (Time Frame: Fourth Day)
LEARNING ACTIVITY 4: “SITUATIONAL ANALYSIS”
Directions: Analyze the situation and prepare a form appropriate for the guest’s requests considering the proper procedures in packaging, storing, and
delivering of laundry items. Your output will be scored using the rubric below.

Scene: Mr. Victor Ramos, a desk receptionist in MG Hotel arranged booking of the upcoming event of Shane’s 18 th birthday celebration, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Castillo. The family also wants to spend their time together on the said place before the party. The following are the information and
details they agreed on:
 They will arrive on 12:30 in the afternoon, May 12, 2021 and expected departure will be on the next day.
 Family package rate they avail is Php 3500/day.
 They avail extra services for laundering and pressing of dresses and pants.
 The delivery service on the said laundry items will be delivered before 8:00 in the evening.
