Reflection of Leadership Style

The style of Leadership affects the development and effectiveness of a

community or an organization in reaching a goal. It means that how the way a leader
performs in an organization can be a vital key to seize the desired goals. Moreover, the
good relationship among a leader and colleagues is a supporting part to achieve the
desired purposes. Besides, some terms can be related by Leadership such as leader,
boss, and manager. In fact, they are different in definition and acting based on the video
learning provided by the lecturer. I will seek out what leadership style in my organization
is currently using, the problems that occur, and what parts that should be repaired or
renewed.
After pondering and looking back at the leadership style that is used by my
organization, I found that it runs both leadership (leader) and management (manager) style
at the same time. Yet, the organization applies leadership more frequently than
management style. For example, the organization asks the subaltern to work together to get
the desired goals. It also focuses on future-oriented thinking. The vision is always
communicated to the colleagues. Based on management style, the organization tends to ask
the colleagues what have a worker given to the organization, organize an area to an
unskillful worker, and it pushes everybody to be a mastery of all knowledge. Moreover, this
leadership style has a connection with transformational leadership that links with positive
outcomes on an individual as well as organizational levels (Nawas & Khan, 2016).
Two problems occur based on the leadership style used in the organization. First,
some departments can not work well. Second, most workers here often complaining about
the job that has given to them. Therefore, there must be solutions to overcome these
problems. This part belongs to the leader of the organization. Then, the leader needs to
grow a consciousness that the improvement of the organization is based on all
performances of the workers includes the leader himself/herself. Moreover, the leader
should place one person in the right place. The leader can persuade the workers to focus on
the solutions for each problem and give priority to the consideration of workers.
Different leadership styles have different influences on the organization. The
leader should explore what leadership style that fits the colleagues because the world
changes time by time. So, we need to adapt more and choose the appropriate
leadership style in our organization. Moreover, the leader should be more sensitive
about the issues that occur in the organization. The thing that must remember is we
have to work as a professional teacher and our purpose is to glorify God’s name by our
works especially in the Adventist Education field.
