The views of the people in the world transmuted because of the Earthquake. Just like in the
situation at Talunan, Cotabato Province, it was just a regular day to the residents when a
traumatizing, 6.3, and 6.6 magnitudes earthquake, transpired and struck the place within a
couple of weeks. Many residents were affected by the said event, for there were some who
lost their homes, and there were a few that lose their loved ones. On the other hand, many

buildings and infrastructure were also affected by the said event. Some of it had severe
damages, while some only had minor damage. As an Atenean in SHS, the knowledge that will

be acquired from the situation would contribute to the scientific revolution and the
Philippines since it would help us to utilize this idea to develop more earthquake-resistant
constructions and structures. And lastly, it would help us to be equipped in the future
earthquake occurrences.

The 6.6 magnitude earthquake that struck Tulunan, Cotabato, and nearby areas destroyed
the area, and many families were affected-- Infrastructures were ruined, others got injured,
and six people were dead. Schools became evacuation centers, and power interruptions
occurred. Furthermore, due to the aftershocks, classes and works were canceled. Though the
earthquake is due to the active fault and not an indication of volcanic activity, most people in

North Cotabato were still traumatized because of the tremendous effects the community
has experienced. With these, since the Philippines belongs in the Pacific Ring of Fire, an

The devastating earthquake that occurred in October of 2019 has caused a pessimistic
effect on the lives of the residents and the whole community of Tulunan, North Cotabato.
Leaving them traumatized by the earthquake as more than a thousand residents lost their
homes. However, this incident has not only affected the people of Tulunan but has damaged
certain infrastructures of the city as well. As a result, the government of the city had to

suspend classes and work for everyone’s safety. Unfortunately, we are currently living in a
place where many volcanoes and earthquakes are formed. With the knowledge that I've

gained, will help me be more educated, and give me a better understanding of this matter. In
addition, this will allow me and the people around me to be conscious and to be prepared for
the potential consequences that the earthquake may bring. Lastly, this will help us look for
solutions that may lessen the occurrence of earthquakes to avoid any unwanted incidents to
happen.

A magnitude of 6.6 struck an area of the municipality in Tulunan, North Cotabato on october
29, 2019 province which has caused severe damage to infrastructures, other properties and a
lot of lives were lost. Electricity and phone services were cut off due to the massive hit of
the earthquake, several individuals were also evacuated and rushed to hospitals yet they still

help us deepen our understanding to identify tectonic activities which modulates our
atmosphere and creates new landforms given that Geologist, astrobiologist and other local
researchers would bring a huge impact to do more of their studies with earth’s plate
boundaries and its movement.
