Objectives:

A. Content Standards: The students demonstrate understanding of: African literature as a

purposes of reading prosodic features that serve as carriers of meaning; ways by which information
may be organized, related, and delivered orally; and parallel structures and cohesive devices in
presenting information

informative speech based on a specific topic of interest keeping in mind the proper and effective
use of parallel structures and cohesive devices and appropriate prosodic features, stance, and
behavior

Procedure:

Session 1: The learners will scan the story, “The Leopard” and encircle the cohesive devices used, then
discuss the answers to the given questions
Session 2: The learners will read a literary about the Nile River and answer the sidebar questions and read
one of Egypt’s classic works and discuss views integrity of creation on the given statements and answers to
the given questions
Session 3: The learners will read the introduction article about Africa aloud while observing the prosodic
features of speech
Session 4: The learners will Deliver informative speech using the prosodic features of speech
