I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of: Philippine literature in the Period
of Emergence as a tool to assert one’s identity; strategies in listening to and
viewing of informative and short narrative texts; word relationships and
associations; informative speech forms; and use of direct/reported speech,
passive/ active voice, simple past and past perfect tenses, and sentence
connectors.
B. Performance The learner transfers learning by: showing ways of asserting one’s identity;
Standards comprehending informative and short narrative texts using schema and
appropriate listening and viewing strategies; expressing ideas, opinions, and
feelings through various formats; and enriching written and spoken
communication using direct/reported speech, active/passive voice, simple past
and past perfect tenses and connectors correctly and appropriately.

B. Motivation
" Ice Breaker "
While the music plays, students pass the ball around the class. When the music
stops, the student with the ball has to do is choose the question inside the box.

ANALYSIS
Activity 1 - Students showed improvement in active listening and empathy skills
during the role-playing activity, indicating progress in enhancing their
interpersonal communication.

D. Discussion Proper
Interpersonal Communication - ls the process by which people exchange
information through verbal and non-verbal messages.

Active learning - being fully engaged while another person is talking to you.
Example : Eye contact, Pay attention and Asking qualify questions

Nonverbal communication - is the transfer of information through body


language, facial expressions, gestures, created space and tone of voice.
Example : Smiling when you meet someone conveys friendliness,
acceptance and openness.

Empathy and Perspective taking - it allows us to connect with others on a


deeper level and understand their emotions, thoughts, and respect.

1) Divide students into pairs and give each pair a scenario card.
2) Instruct students to act out the scenario using effective communication
strategies.
