My Personal Timeline

1. How can you say that geologic time scale important?

Geologic timescale is important because it helps us represent the history of the Earth. We can
use the geologic timescale to know study, remember, and understand the events that took
places years before us. It tells us the timings of the events that have happened in the past and
its relationship to what is currently happening in the present and can also help us predict what
might happen in the future. With the geologic timescale, we can know the sequence of events
and the stages of evolution our planet has gone through and these will help us learn from the
past, live in the present and believe in the future.

2. Review geologic time scale.

Paleontologists have divided Earth’s history into time units based on the life-forms that lived
only during some certain periods. These divisions are what make up the geologic timescale.
The geologic time scale is a system made by scientists to classify and date the geologic strata
in time. We use it to describe the events, relationships and sequence in geologic history.
Geologic times have 4 major divisions; eons, eras, periods, and epochs. Eons are the longest
subdivisions and are based on the abundance of certain fossils. Next are the eras, they are
marked by major worldwide changes in the types of fossils present. Eras are subdivided into
periods and periods are subdivided by epochs, both of them are characterized by the types of
life forms that existed at that time.

- What were some events you included on your timeline?

Some of the events I included in my timeline are my physical, maturity, spiritual and academic
growth. I also included some of my first times such as first crawl, step, word, and when my
parents discovered me. The events on my timeline are mostly centered on my first times and
my achievements throughout my life.

- What events do you remember best?

The events I remembered best are the events that happened more recently, from middle
childhood to the present.

- Why did you choose to include those events?

I chose to include those events because I think they are the most important ones and are the
ones that show my growth throughout the years. These events are my milestones, the ones
that build me up to be the person I am today.
 - What evidence do you have that an event happened when it did?

The evidences that I have that those events happened when they did are the pictures my
parents took and the testimony of my parents, family friends and myself. They helped me list
the events that happened throughout my life especially the ones that I did not have any
memories of.

- What kind of information did you need to get in order to put the events in your life in a
sequence?

The kinds of information that is needed to get in order to put the events in my life in a
sequence are the information about my past, the events that happened in the past and the
ones I experienced. Some of these events were given to me by my parents they also helped
me to put them in order based on their memories of that time.

- Were there some events you weren’t sure about where to place?

Yes, there were some events that I wasn’t sure about where to place. These events are the
once from my infancy and early childhood. I heard stories about them throughout the years
because my parents loved teasing me about it but I never really knew what the order of these
events was.
