Course Title : Indigenous Creative crafts
Units : 3
Course Description
This course focuses on the traditional forms of weaving, woodwork and other
crafts, where they are done, how, by whom, and their artistic and social purposes. It
emphasizes on the different indigenous creative crafts in a different region of the
Philippines. Students will experience how to make their own craft using their artistry
and creativity.

Course Outcomes
On the completion of the course, student expected to be able to do the following:
1. Develop a critical understanding of the Indigenous Craft;
2. Recognize, interpret, and analyze craftsmanship of several native groups;
3. Develop an appreciation and responsibility for hand craftsmanship by
exploring, conversing and promoting the various techniques employed by
Filipino cultures;
4. Improve creativeness on multitude handmade items;
5. Understand how crafts were made, why it was made that way, and relate it’s
vital to modern life than ever; and
6. Make their own craft using their Artistry and creativity.
