STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am an undergraduate student in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Mar

Athnasius College of Engineering affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University have applied
to Masters program in Communication Networks and Signal Processing at the University
of Bristol. Being from a family of many science graduates, the inquisitiveness to know
was nurtured in me from an early age. Naturally, I enjoyed studying science and
mathematics throughout my studies.

I started my schooling at Mahatma Gandhi Public School, Ambadimala, Kerala which is

affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and completed my 10th grade in
March 2007 with 77.4% .My innate strengths have been my quantitative and analytical
abilities which instilled in me a special interest to study science in my pre-
university education where I passed with 75.8% marks in March 2009. I even worked my
way to one of the most prestigious Institution of Technology and Science - Mar
Athanasius College of Engineering in Kerala, India, securing admission for
Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The four years of undergraduate education have been a great and learning and
enriching process for me. I did fairly well in a very competitive environment, securing
around 60% in every semester that more than half the students were unable to achieve. The
coursework was intensive with elaborately designed projects and research based work,
integrated with the same, making the learning experience worthwhile.

I have thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of Electronics Engineering especially in

the field of Electro Mechanics, Electromagnetic Fields, Electronic Devices and Circuits,
Pulse and Digital Circuits, Electronics & Control systems. To fulfill the requirements of the
market I have also completed a certification course in Microsoft .NET Technologies and
SQL Server concepts after the completion of my undergraduate study. My academic
performance reflects a steady improvement over the years as I have been working hard
to be among the best scholars of the university. Now, I would like to improve my skill in
technical knowledge by taking up the MSc. Communication Networks and Signal
Processing at your esteemed university. I understand the necessity of equipping myself
with deeper understanding of the subject and broadening my spectrum in the mentioned
field.
I strongly feel that the masters study in a UK university is the best option I can get because of
the suppleness incorporated in its educational system, its ability to blend the academic &
