Dr. Villamater as speaker in PLAI Online Congress


Dr. Augusta Rosario Villamater was invited as
one of the speakers in the Philippine Librarians
Association Inc (PLAI) Online Congress 2020 last
November 26, 2020.
Dr. Villamater talked about the Southern Tagalog
Region Librarians Council (STRLC): Streamlining and
Transforming Region’s Libraries and Information
Centers.
PLAI Congress theme for 2020 is Libraries as
Catalyst in the New Normal Environment : Changes,
Reforms, Transformations. It was a four (4) day online
event that runs from November 24-27, 2020.
The Congress was joined by librarians and
library staff in the different parts of the Philippines and
across the globe via Facebook live and Zoom .

Enverga Library joins Online ZUMBOOK


The University Libraries staff joined the
“ZUMBOOK 2020 via ZOOM” - a Zumba Dance as
book drive for libraries damaged by calamities and
help communities build libraries on November 21,
2020 (Saturday), 9:00 in the morning via Zoom.

This is in line with the celebration of the 86th


National Book Week with the theme: “Libraries as
Catalysts in the New Normal Environment: Changes.
Reforms. Transformations”, the Librarians
Association of Quezon Province-Lucena Inc.
(LAQueP-LInc) in participation with different
institutions in Quezon Province.

The objective of this project is to encourage


citizens to generate books and other instructional
materials that will support in building libraries in
public schools, municipal and community libraries in
Quezon Province.

Library Halloween Photography Contest


In celebration of the 86th National Book Celebration, the
University Libraries conducted an activity with the theme “Zombie
reading habit: be scary with your favorite books” to stay
connected and feel closer to every student of Manuel S. Enverga
University Foundation amidst the pandemic. This activity aims to
promote love for reading and continuously develop learning.

Participants were requested to submit their entries via

Winners are the following 1st Place Phol Ceñidoza AB


Communication, 2nd Place Marie Brigette Alcantara BS
Criminology, 3rd Place Loise Gabrielle Esplana STEM, 4th Place
Chariz Sarmiento BLIS and 5th Place Kyla Marie Hicayo BSCE.
Entries were being evaluated by the librarians and judge
based on the following criteria: composition and creativity 20%,
relevance and adherence to the theme 40%, quality of the
picture = 30% and number of heart reacts 10%. Winners
received e-certificates and cash prizes. 1st place received Php
1,000.00 and e-certificate, 2nd place received 500.00 and e-
certificate, 3rd place received 300.00 and e-certificates while
4th place and 5th place received 100.00 each and e-certificate.
Cash prizes for all the winners were send via Gcash/ PayMaya
and any bank transfer available to them. While e-certificate for all
participants were send to their respective e-mail account.

CHRISTMAS FAMBONDING
Reading together amidst Covid-19
Winds are blowing coldly as we
feel the presence of Christmas. Everyone
was excited to celebrate it with their
family and love ones to wrap the coldness
with warmth of love and joy. As we
celebrate this years Christmas season
with a lot of challenges and struggles,
Envergans are still optimist to see the
good things on everything. As to enjoy
this yuletide season, the library have
launched an activity with the theme
Christmas Fam Bonding: reading together
amidst COVID-19.
This activity aims to spread love
and hope to everyone.
This activity is open to all bonafife
College and SHS students of MSEUF.
Students are requested to take picture
with their family ready together during this
time of pandemic. All entries must be
send to Enverga Library Facebook Page.
Criteria for judging were based on the

December 21, 2020. 1st Place is Ms.
Chariz L. Sarmiento and 2nd Place is
Lyka Mae B. Baay. Winners received a
cash prize and an e-certificated. Cash
prizes were send via GCash and e-
certificated were send via their respective
emails.

UPDATE

Ms. Marichu Edaño received the book donations from Enverga Library staff lead by Dr. Augusta Rosario Villamater.

The MSEUF Libraries is committed to from the University Library. These books
help other small libraries establish their own could help their students and faculty members
respective learning resource center through its in their module making and modular classes.
Community Extension Project - “Aklatanihan:
an Adopt-A Library Program”. This program The University Library is grateful that
provides books and other reading materials to despite the situation right now, they were able
its adopted libraries. to help and provide learning materials to this
school and somehow help improve literacy

were able to reach out to another library despite
the challenges due to pandemic. But despite all,
the library was able to consolidate books for
donation, and were able to organize it so that
another library will benefit.

On December 17, 2020, the University


Libraries were able to donate 100 copies of
books to Ibabang Talim Integrated High School.
It was being picked up by their School Learning

LIBRARY GREEN REVOLUTION


The library is supportive with the
University’s advocacy making the university a
Green University wherein cleanliness and
planting herbal and ornamental plans is one of
their activity. In this regard, the University have
created its own Green Project which is the Green
Revolution. In this project the library staff plant
vegetables and ornamental plants in front of the
University Library.

For this semester, the library staff were


able to harvest blueberries from the library
garden. The staff picked all the ripe blueberries.
These were made into a blueberry jam and blue-
berry cheese cupcakes. The proceeds from the
sales will go to CLASS (Club for Library Assis-
tants Supporting Scholarships) fund. CLASS is
an organization of student assistant alumni which
aim to help student assistant sustain their studies.

For this activity, another students was


able to continue her study. The sales fund was
able to lend to a student assistant to help augment
her tuition fee and continue studying college.

This library activity will continue and this


advocacy of helping specially those student
library assistant who were greatly affected by
the pandemic.
