GUIDELINES ON CLASSROOM STRUCTURING, LANDSCAPING AND

GULAYAN SA PAARALAN CONTEST 2020

1. The contest will focus on three different areas; Classroom Design,

Landscaping of Assigned Territorial Assignment and Gulayan sa Paaralan
respectively.
2. Each of the three areas shall be awarded with respective points that constitutes

the General Weighted Average which will be the basis for declaring the
monthly winners.
3. The point system will be as follows:
o Classroom Structuring - 35
o Landscaping - 35
o Gulayan sa Paaralan - 30
4. In order to rate the respective areas, the following Criteria shall be used:
o Classroom Structuring
 Concept and Creativity - 20%
 Maximum Utilization of Materials - 20%
 Orderliness - 20%
 Aesthetic Value / Visual Appeal - 20%
 Sustainability - 20%
o Landscaping
 Concept and Creativity - 35%
 Maximum Utilization of Materials - 35%
 Aesthetic Value / Visual Appeal - 30%
o Gulayan sa Paaralan
 Sustainability - 20%
 Plant Variation - 20%
 Maximum Utilization of the Area - 20%
 Concept and Creativity - 20%
 Aesthetic Value / Visual Appeal - 20%
5. In rating the aforesaid areas, the following shall be considered:
o Classroom Restructuring
 Concept and Creativity
 Uniqueness of the concept.
 Design is suited for classrooms.
 Concept is evident in the designs.
 Maximum utilization of Materials
 Varied materials are evident.
 Recycled and indigenous materials may be used.

 Orderliness
 Classrooms, including corridors must be clean and
pleasing to the eyes.
  Waste disposal and segregation shall be one of the top
priorities.
 Bulletin boards are complete with data and must be
updated including WinS, DRRR information, and First
Aid Kits with medicines.
 Proper housekeeping must be observed.
 Aesthetic Value / Visual Appeal

 Designs must be visually pleasing.

 All design elements must complement each other.
 Sustainability
 Consistent maintenance and updating of classroom
structuring should be evident.
o Landscaping
 Concept and Creativity
 Uniqueness of the concept.
 Concept is evident in the design.
 Maximum utilization of Materials
 Use of varied materials are evident.
 Recycled and indigenous materials may be used.
 Aesthetic Value / Visual Appeal
 Designs must be visually pleasing.
 All design elements must complement each other.
o Gulayan sa Paaralan
 Variation of Plants
 Gardens must contain at least more than three kinds of
plants.
 Sustainability
 Plants are exposed to conditions which are susceptible
for growth.
 Plants are evidently planted ahead of judging period.
 Maximum Utilization of the Area
 Area is fully utilized.
 Plants are organized and properly maintained.

 Concept and Creativity

 Materials are used in a creative manner.
 Aesthetic Value / Visual Appeal
 Gulayan is well kept and visually pleasing.

2 6. All plants, designs and other materials that will be judged is automatically
considered as school property.
7. Advisers are encouraged to maintain and update the designs until the end of
the school year.
8. Judging is scheduled from January until March, 2020.
 9. All issues with regards to this contest shall be dealt with by the proponent and
the School Head.
