It all started…..
But we do
dislike the
other team…

Even if we have
no reason to…
You are almost guaranteed to see a fight…
Or possibly get
seated next to one of
these guys….
And this winning
attitude….

Starts at a young
age….
Stay off the field, or risk being tased…
Phillies fan
charged with
intentionally
vomiting on
cop's kid

And you DEFINITELY don’t want to sit near this kid…

Better yet, perhaps a nice day at the museum…

6.3 Rollups (from SIG 2012)
• Released every 4 months
• Will be able to patch against specific Rollups
• Can include more robust enhancements:
• Incremental DB additions
• Incremental XML additions
• Property / Parameter controlled enhanced functionality
• Improved upgrade experience
• Due to more focus on incremental controls – if current
• Working on reducing downtime for Rollups – if current
6.3 Rollups (from SIG 2012)
• While we will have the ability to patch back:
• Backports of bugs will still be on an exception basis
• No backports of enhancements
• Same advice from Development: Stay Current!
• No official line on Rollup age, but similar to current approach
we will not be able to patch back too many Rollups – they age!
• Likely no longer than 1 year (match other Oracle products)
• 6.3.1 will still be largely a bug fix Rollup for forward
porting and critical bugs.

Q&A

41 Copyright © 2013, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.

Question #1
 Is the product roadmap all about Rollups? Is
there a major release being planned? If so, what
is the target date?

 Rollups are just one vehicle to deliver small to medium sized

enhancements. Major releases will still be needed. The next major
release is in the planning / scoping phase, will likely be called 6.4,
and targeted for delivery in Oracle’s FY15.

42 Copyright © 2013, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.

Question #2

 Has OTM team changed their approach to

platform support?

 Not really, just formalized what we were doing before, AND trying to
align with corporate platforms for multi-application implementations.
– We have two levels – supported and certified.

43 Copyright © 2013, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.

Question #3

 Since Larry now owns an Hawaiian Island, can

we get a better (more tropical) location for next
year’s SIG?

 If the SIG customers buy up some new licenses for LCC and the
hardware to go with it, we will go to bat with Larry for a SIG on his
island!!
